On Edits, Amethyst offers 5 options to our users:

1. You can just not edit. No one is forcing you to edit your post if there is a typo on it. You can see the original text from anyone else with a single click on the editted label.

2. Edit with history, where you can see all the changes that anyone made to their post. The entire history is there. Hit the post's 3-dot menu and click edit.

3. Edit without history. You can delete your post and post again. Most relays will comply and your post will be gone. You can post in the past and in the future (albeit that requires you to change the phone's clock, post and move it back, but we will make it easier in the future).

4. Annotate as a reply. Author's posts are the first on all thread views. If you want to fix something but don't want to edit it, you can simply reply to your own post and your post will be first in the reply view.

5. Fork your own post. You can fix your typos and post again as a fork. This will keep both the original post and the modified post on your follower's timeline to make sure you are informing them that you modified what you said.

Users, not devs, can choose what they prefer using in each separate occasion.

I don't think most Amethyst users care that you guys are spamming your relays with edits.

One of the most interesting learnings from this Edits conversation is knowing how much some devs want to control what users can and cannot do in this network. So much so that they spend days trying to break working implementations, that people are actually using, just to impose their opinion on everybody else.

If this is about annoying people, we should be able to implement a "stop following this thread" that just hides all notifications about it. You can still see it if you go to the thread, but you will have piece of mind.

People can always comment anything on Nostr.

All we can do is to not show it to you. Is that what you want?

The people of Iran are always portrait as enemies of the world, especially the west. If you hear that over and over you start to believe it.

I had my doubts about this but changed my mind completely after seeing the Iran visit from the best ever food review show on YouTube.

You are basically confirming everything said on the show. Normal people that just want to get on with their lives, waiting for a change to the better.

Just keep going.

Being a protector is great. The problem is when you confuse protecting with controlling. Protecting another means protecting their autonomy.

What a waste of life to bring attention to a story. Iran needs more than this to bring a revolution.

The Buddhists have an expression about recieving two arrows to the same place on your body.

The first is extremely painful, but the second to the same location is ten times as bad.

The first arrow is a natural error. The second is the judgement we place upon ourselves for making the mistake.
