In my ongoing sci fi story, there was one character where I wasn't sure whether they would live or die at the end. I decided it today.

I had outlined much of the plot from beginning to end with spots to fill in a while ago, but that particular outcome wasn't determined yet.

But after writing 75k words, and experiencing that character a lot, it gave me the right vibes on what to do.

Who defines hate? Who defines truth? All centralized platforms will inevitably be forced to be the arbiter, willingly or not. It's an impossible problem.

The only solution is to remove central control and push it to the edges. It's messy, it's imperfect, but it's much preferable to the alternative.

Similar culture in Pakistan — ie, the social and financial responsibility that the male head of family carries incentivizes him to marry his daughters off as soon as possible/good opportunity presents. If he’s low income, it takes financial weight off his shoulders, and if he’s doing well financially, he knows that may not last forever, so he locks in the best family he’s able to fetch for his daughter.

My grandfather arranged my mother’s marriage when she was15 (she married at 16) and my aunt’s when she was 13 (married at14). He was a successful businessman (flour mills) and didn’t have a financial issue supporting them, but he capitalized on his respect in the community to marry his daughters into the professional class.

criticism is good, but keep in mind many nostr devs are working on this in the spare time, or are taking lower pay so that they can work on this because they believe in it. nostr is an experient, a protocol. It's not polished. There are bugs. It's not a VC venture with hundreds of millions of funding, designers, and large teams of people building polished products. It's an R&D lab. adjust your expectations accordingly. Sure you can say we suck and aren't working hard enough, but is that really productive? We're trying our best folks. These apps are non-trivial to build! Especially if you want to make them fast 🏎
