Somewhere, nowhere, most of the time, always.

After playing around with LN I found significant difference in the three world of cryptocurrency :

1. The Bitcoin only world

2. The decentralized world

3. The hype, pump & dump

The Bitcoin only world cares and caters for the development of an economy surrounding Bitcoin. No alts, no shitcoin. This is fairly important as the Bitcoin value is set in stone and the pure value of Proof of Work. No hype. No pump, no dump.

While the Bitcoin only value is the best virtue, it relies on alot of centralized infrastructure. After technically being "Bitcoin only", i had to use custodian wallet to effectively use Bitcoin as money via LN (non custodian is available but fee is a tad high and i cant run my own node) . The infra for swaps also are relatively centealized (like fixed float). The infra for DID is also still centralized (nip05/lud16).

There is nothing wrong with a bit of centralization, the incidence of hack is also lower. It just... not as decentralized as the other alternative.

2. The decentralized

I have been living long in the Atom ecosystem and i believe it is by far the most decentralized ecosystem. It has decentralized bridge (Inter Blockchain Communication) , decentralized dex (osmosis & crescent), decentralized swap (thor), decentralized name service (starname), decentralized margin (kujira).

They focus on development over value, hence is why you see atom is less under the spotlight unlike its ethereum predecessors. Atom is also the predecessor of the proof of stake technology, now powering virtually 85% of blockchain.

One thing atom lacks is securing the value of BTC. It lives in the image of BTC, yes, but it never secures the BTC value, unlike LN. And i think that was the problem. And because of this, atom ecosystem fail to get any value traction. They are not the hype, pump & dump group, nor they are on the store on value (BTC) group. This might change though with interchain security (ICS) but that takes time.

3. The hype, pump & dump

The ethereum & evm as well as solana ecosystem is by far, a game of pump, dump & hype in the name of crypto. The goes on by thesis, and as far as i can conclude, a valueless one.

AI thesis, metaverse thesis, p2e thesis? What is that actually? Does it really matters.

Smart contract allows valuable technology advanced, but atom has it too, solana has it too. What really has it bring to ethereum and evm chain? Most DEX are a copycat of uniswap , no innovation, most lending platform are a copycat of aave.

There is virtually nothing decentral there. Te bridge are glorified mpc and they get hacked oftenly, wrapped asset are nothing but custodian coins glorified as smart contract able. Worst off are the synthetics. None of them works but they are considered as development.

While i enjoyed riding the waves on these, i never find a true crypto value in them. To me, they are not the satoshi vision at all. It is just speculative trade riding on weebs without any legal regulation

What i can conclude is both (1) & (2) may benefit the cryptosphere

A. Bringing better Bitcoin appreciation.

B. Bringing true decentralization to work.

Thorswap is an ambitious DeFi project that aims to allow native swapping of coins. So unlike uniswap, it does not wrap tokens, but support native token swaps. However , i find 3 weaknesses compare to its competitor, in particular the centralized Fixed float

1. Liquidity sucks, so the spread is bigger (See the screenshot).

2. Number of coin support is low, you don't usdt trc20 nor BTC LN.

3. It is more technical. It does not support manual depositing of coin (need wallet connection) so it will be a turn off for many user.

Thor also has its history of hacks. While they have patch them, it will cause issue with trust.

It is not innovation if every dex is a uniswap clone and every lending platform are Aave rebadged

Just wait until the shitcoiners starts removing zaps and implements metamask instead in their shitcoin clients ... 😅

Well, my friend, while I appreciate your perspective, it's important to consider all sides of a situation before jumping to conclusions. In this case, I do believe that Elon Musk has made some valuable contributions to the technology and business world, including SpaceX, PayPal, and Tesla.

Of course, every person is bound to have their own opinions, successes, and failures, and it's important not to place any one individual on a pedestal, nor to vilify them without cause.

That being said, it is crucial that individuals and businesses alike prioritize ethics, integrity, and accountability in their actions and decisions. The success of any industry or endeavor is dependent on a community of individuals working together towards a common goal, and it is important that we all treat each other with respect, kindness, and understanding.

He's a marketer, not a founder or an engineer. He didn't found PayPal or Tesla; he bought into them early. He's good at selling narratives and equity valuation for perpetually unprofitable companies.

Everything for him is a narrative. His green revolution was a narrative to sell more cars and get more subsidies. His bitcoin purchase was to gain appeal among bitcoin/crypto people in a bull market. And he shilled doge like a dumbass. His SpaceX narrative is to get money from the government.

His rooftop solar thing was an outright scam; the technology isn't ready and went nowhere because of that. His full-self-driving-in-an-intermediate-term timeline was a scam, and is going nowhere because of that. He makes scams to draw people and capital in, because for him it's all about narratives and equity valuation.

And then he dug unproductive holes, suggested unproductive hyper-tubes, built meme flamethrowers, for what? It's a narrative, not a business. None of this is real productive shit to make peoples' lives better.

His latest "we need free speech" narrative was a scam too. He tapped into something real, which is what marketers do and why it kind of worked. Yes, we need free speech. Yes, Twitter had censorship issues. He saw that and jumped on it maliciously rather than productively.

But what did he replace it with? He replaced it with arbitrary journalist censorship about his private jet, arbitrary censorship of Substack, selective Twitter Files release, won't talk seriously about any of his China connections because Xi Jinping fucking owns him economically there like Jack Ma, has his balls firmly in his grasp, etc.

Elon's playing the narrative, the anti-woke meme of the day. He's a master meme-momentum-player. Don't fall for it.
