Yes agreed, but engineers who develop an over reliance on these tools will dull their skills and understanding of their product. IMO there’s a difference between using AI to streamline your core competencies and using it instead of learning a skill.

Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of videos on Youtube of this guy reacting to cost of living crisis and inflation tiktoks. It’s tough seeing how bad it is for people out there, especially knowing it’s not going to get better.

Maybe the full Fiat death is coming sooner than we thought…

Reign of Fire (2002)! A cult classic Dragon-pocalypse with Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey.

I just watched Arrival for the first time, although I’ve known the story for years. If you don’t know anything about the plot do yourself a favor and go in completely blind. It’s entirely different after you’ve seen it the first time, and I feel like I missed out on that experience because I knew how it ended.

I think we need a way to incentivize innovation, but exclusive copyrights (especially for long durations, especially if it is easy to make minute changes to refresh that duration) don’t help us compound on successes for further progress.

It’s times like these I’m glad I’m too regarded to use leverage lol.

I’ve only finished the introduction of nostr:nprofile1qqsxc56ajk5xtxerf4dqspgrfa0s5elrcr80lnz9nasldq87j3zzf0cpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucm4wfex2mn59en8j6gpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7cayy5k ā€˜s The Big Print and I can already tell this will be a quick read. I’ve unwittingly already done the prerequisite reading of Broken Money and The Fourth Turning, and Lepard’s refrain ā€œFix the Money, Fix the Worldā€ might as well be tattooed on my forehead.

Episodes like this are such a great way to start a day, it’s very grounding and makes you want to do better.

Unions lobbying for tariffs is a perfect illustration of tunnel-visioning on a desired outcome, and not enough on what is incentivized by a given action. You can’t force someone else to care about something if they don’t want to.

A fantastic breakdown of comparative advantage and why tariffs are dumb.
