The past few weeks I notice there are a lot more cars from the cities around where I live. I think the gen-x'rs are done fighting for lost territory. There's no winning when the top of your own government is out to screw you over, and there's no fixing government when elections are all stacked.

of walking downtown in front of the state capitol building. They were restoring a giant statue of Bhuda on top of the national guard building and covering it in gold leaf. It looked eery and gaudy. Then I went into a tunnel between buildings and saw a historical society presentation of the early industrial era with photos of people picking up crock barrels lying around and carrying them home.
First a woman in her 30s wearing a ragged dress and dark wool jacket picks up a large crock, puts her tomatoes from the open market in it and carries it home.
Then a 7 year old boy wearing a black bowler hat and wool coat with long lapels picks up a gallon crock that has a clear glass quart sized necked bottle in it. He keeps the bottle in the crock, and begins walking. The bottle is too dirty to see through the glass. Then the boy smells a rat and sets it down for fear of getting scratched amd dying of infection. He looks closer and sees the rat inside the bottle dead. He ponders throwing away the bottke, but pickes the crock up again with the bottle, and continues on.
Then a 6mo old girl is found in a drain pipe. She crawled into it on her own reaching for a galvanometer that had washed inside. Somehow the baby was able to grasp it and clutch it to her face, but wasn't able to crawl back out. She died with it jammed to her cheeks. The historian noted "somehow she still died with a smile on her face." It was apparent the expression was from struggling to push herself back out and her cheeks were pulled by the concrete walls of the pipe.
Then I woke up.

For not, transparency and simplicity is a key feature. Obscuring it with z-cash style cryptography makes it much harder for the newbie to grasp and trust. That's not to say it will never happen, just not now, and not for a long long time. For now we have lightning and ecash, there we have opportunity for anonymonity and it doesen't have to effect the base 'store of value' layer.
