Keep your seed phrase. Retire your wife. Your Bitcoin, your keys, your legacy. We are reimagining how true cypherpunks can build legacy and freedom in a world with Bitcoin and Nostr. We are Nostr first. By building on Nostr we are servants to no big tech overlords. We will be the change we want to see by enabling plebs to reach previously impossible levels of Bitcoin security, resiliency, and legacy. We provide onboarding and support to create the most resilient BTC self custody setup possible via Liana Wallet. Get the security of multisig with the recover-ability of singlesig. Taproot enables you to keep all these recovery options fully private yet enforceable onchain. When you pass away your family will have idiot-proof redundancy with multiple non-kyc, private inheritance options.

GM! You can just hold generational wealth safely without depending on anybody. What a time to be alive!!

Love starting with the advantages of Bitcoin to individuals. When Bitcoin reaches $1M the asymmetric advantage to individuals will only grow with NGU. An individual can quickly change to the best self custody option available. Quantum becomes a real threat (I doubt it but possible) or another threat emerges, and individuals can move to a quantum resistant address or new custody setup in minutes while institutions will be stuck in committees for years. CTV gets activated and on chain vaults become an option, individuals will be the majority of users for a long time. This is my favorite aspect of Bitcoin.

GM! The fundamental problem with MSTR is the enormous amount of trust. They refuse to prove they have the Bitcoin. You have to trust the auditors, and auditors are retarded.

GM! If you leave your heirs anything except a seed plate you’re doing it wrong. That seed plate will be valuable long after MSTR is dead. Have to think about the long run goals. Not short term gains.

The screen is the show stealing feature and does help develop a more ongoing sense of calm, and acutely makes me realize how my phone is giving me constant low level anxiety. When putting my phone away and using the daylight tablet for a while I feel noticeably more relaxed.

The main downside is it’s pretty expensive. To consider the price tag worth it you either have to highly value the mental health and blue light avoidance aspects (I do) or place future value on their not yet deployed new operating system. For now it is ultimately an expensive Android tablet, albeit one that has a beautiful screen and is carefully curated.

Time locks: while you’re alive you have multisig’s incredible security, and after you pass on your inheritance has the simplicity of singlesig. Your heirs only need a single seed plate.

If your Bitcoin inheritance plan is a treasure map then your heirs are probably losing your stack.

With timelocks you can instead confidently now give them a seedplate and a clear recovery explanation without fear they can steal funds because … well it’s timelocked.

GM! What custodians say: “we offer white glove services and provide inheritance to your heirs.”

What it really means “ we (maybe?) have your bitcoin and your family depends on our good graces to access it. We can cancel you and take or just lose your life’s work in a moment.”

lmfao

Banking shutting down affects the poorest the most. If a bill comes in a day early and they receive funds a day late they either get charged huge fees, default, or take out usurious loans

Time locked seed plates are the ultimate inheritance

Too many even just known issues and then invite unknown could emerge over decades.

Eventually we have to do a hard fork to fix the timestamps bug.

Quantum could emerge as a real threat(I am highly skeptical but it’s certainly possible).

It’s best practice to not do excessively long timelocks. This is partially why Liana focuses on relative timelocks that have a maximum of 65k blocks or about 15 months

GM! For estate planning you can use Bitwarden’s emergency access to allow your heirs to access your BTC descriptor (NEVER private keys) after a preset delay. Hand them a steel seed plate and then Bitwarden provides them delayed access to the descriptor and you can provide instructions and other important estate documents.

GM! Worried about Bitcoin inheritance? Just use Liana and hand your heir a time locked seed plate.

BTC self custodial inheritance: hand your heir a seed plate that’s behind a timelock. They can’t access while you’re alive, but they have the key needed to access once you’re gone.

GM! For a serious BTC stack a dedicated desktop computer is by far the best approach. Phones are fine for a modest stack, but not for retiring your family.

Don’t play games, browse the internet, and then handle your generational wealth on the same computer. You can get a used M1/M2 Mac Mini for $250-400. https://news.sky.com/story/meta-found-covertly-tracking-android-users-through-instagram-and-facebook-13379083

GM! Liana with timelocks are a super power. Having a singlesig key behind a timelock is the ultimate inheritance. Just hand a seed plate to your heir and send them the descriptor. With timelocks they won’t be able to access until you pass on, enforced by the Bitcoin network itself. Not a closed source server that instantly breaks if a company or person disappears.
