So what's the stacks vs liquid looking like? I honestly looked a bit into the bitcoin layer 2 stuff and saw those two. I also saw stable sats but that's just stable coins on lightning.
It looks to offer more but my issues with this platform still stand. It's under powered and over priced. You can get a gecko or nerd miners for cheaper if wanted to do that. Also could just do as most do an get an s9. You are more likely to win the PowerBar lottery now than mine a block once the having hits.
Only bitcoin purchase I regret this year is a futurebit node. On paper it seemed like a good idea but mine was dead by the end of this year and I was underwhelmed by what it could do. Hope the new update is more useful, but imo the amount you get from mining and the fact its only a full node is a joke for the price. To add lightning to it would be worse (considering the hardware). I dont think this direction will work unless you guys come up with something different that adds value. Like a space heater, air purifier, or some other value added benefit besides mining and a full node. I could also see small nodes/ lightning nodes being good for a business to verify there btc received. Just dont see the node for the home thing value adding when there are way cheaper options that are more reliable. @futurebit

And they have a limit on how much you can hold on a alby wallet. It's like around 1 mil sats.
Glad I run my own node. They state if using a node or lightning wallet your fine. Its the people creating alby accounts for ln addresses/wallets that would be affected.
You can do something like kraken for 1 mil alby for 2mil and think wos and is still a good peer to have at 5 to 10 mil. If you have specific content creators you support make sure to add them with a small channel to zap for low fees! Same goes for services you might use alot like bitrefill, breez, mutiny, etc.
This so hard tbh. If your goal ISNT to be a routing node private channels are the way. Just in this case you will most likely need bigger well connected nodes and most start out at 1 to 5mil sats per channel required, so may be expensive to be well connected with few peers. Best thing you can do is find peers with low fees, connected to peers you need or send to alot, and are down rarely.

Sorry didnt explain the mullvad vpn vs proton vpn is the payment method. Mullvad you dont create an account and can pay with btc or monero so not traceability. But will agree on your point its hard to find a truly private email client and proton does help in that aspect. Also on the email side I do agree email would be diffrent but think there has to be some company that will burn everything and be a sacrifice to stand by there privacy. promise.
Yah no. If you dont trust a platform and continue to use it on the basis its private its a contradiction. Proton has given into government entities and gave there users info before whats to stop them from doing it again? Ill use proton mail as a normal email address but I wont trust there vpn or any service they offer. Mullvad literally got raided and the police left with nothing, so yah ill just trust the people that stand by there word. Not to be mean but sounds more like your selling proton to people even though you still say to do stuff to mitigate THEM giving your data away when they are supposed to be on your side. also agian mullvad had government police in there office with warrents and THEY GOT NOTHING. why cant proton do that? Why does proton get to choose who they cave in for? Either close your company or change your marketing to reflect there actual values, aka they cave to any pressure thats to much for them... Also if you pay for proton vpn they can just give your data over and show what you've been up to on there vpn. Sorry for rant but just seems weird....
