Living long doesn’t make our consciousness truly unlimited. We still can’t predict the future, and accidents can still happen. Close shaves…

Surprise and anticipation of the future make life interesting, and it’s only possible because our consciousness is limited by not fully knowing the future. No advances in longevity will ever break that limitation. :-)

I think reminders of death (memento mori) and bad parts of life will still remind us of what’s most meaningful, as they always have, even without diseases. War is unfortunately a more persistent thorn than aging.

Moreover, with the vast expanse of the universe a longer life would still be met with the vast unknown.

For our current limited lives the idea of an endless expanse is often filled with ideas of heaven or the afterlife.

For people with lifetimes that we cannot fathom, exploration will be the "endless unknown"

If there is truly anything that has driven mankind for the better it has been exploration and curiosity. It seems only when we are cornered or stuck in one place that evil spawns within us.

Interesting, but what could be done with it? What use cases might it have?

Lol first thing I did was check if this was legit. Its true!

This is our ultimate purpose in life, it can't be easy.

My mother taught me when I was too small to understand that If I prayed to God for anything it should be for knowledge.

She knew that it was not her job to teach me but rather to give me the tools and the foundation to be curious and seek knowledge on my own.

What is the Problem With a Classless Society? Human Nature.

For centuries, momentum has pushed humanity toward more equitable societies—today, there are many places in the world where people can hope and strive for a better life without limitation of law or class.

📖 The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels argued that history was defined by class struggle and that one day, classes—and even the state itself—would disappear. But this, they claimed, could only happen if private ownership ended. No ownership = no exploitation = no class divisions.

💡History does show continuous instances of class struggle and revolt. So, Communism sounds inevitable, right?

Here’s the issue: humans have an innate desire to own things.

We create, innovate, and leave our mark on the world—not just for survival, but because we are wired to shape and claim what we build.

Maybe the real question isn’t “Can we end ownership?” but “What kind of ownership creates the best society?” 🤔

I did a quick chatgpt search to even articulate what is being transferred in those tunnels. This is what I got:

When a neurite (a developing axon or dendrite) tunnels or connects with another, it can transfer various biological signals and materials, depending on the type of interaction. Some key possibilities include:

1. Electrical Signals

If the neurites form a synapse or a gap junction, they can transfer ions and electrical impulses to facilitate communication between neurons.

2. Chemical Signals

Through synaptic vesicles, neurites can transfer neurotransmitters like glutamate, dopamine, or GABA to modulate activity in the connected neuron.

3. Cytoplasmic Exchange

If the tunneling involves tunneling nanotubes (TNTs), they may transfer cytoplasmic materials such as proteins, mRNA, organelles (e.g., mitochondria), or signaling molecules.

4. Membrane Components

Neurites can exchange lipid membrane components or even receptors, modifying the receiving cell's surface properties.

5. Growth and Development Cues

During development, neurites may exchange growth factors and guidance cues (e.g., Netrins, Slits, Ephrins) to help shape the neural network.

I wonder what it is we are witnessing here!

This is one for the developers: has anyone explored cashu/ fedi mints between two parties where an action api call or something triggers a signature? Im asking for escrow use cases.

In a sense it could be a smart contract without a block chain?

- note: this would be like a mint only between the parties involved. So the funds od online purchase stay locked until items have been recieved by the buyer.

As processing power continues to grow, its possible we might all have a miner built into our phones and houses to stem costs similar to how electric companies give credits for solar panels.

Of all the professions and industries, sports is the one that gone through every major civilizational revolutions (ie industrial revolution, digital revolution and even now with the advent of the AI revolution).

When AI picks up and industries everywhere change in ways no one could've suspected, people will still follow sports. They will still seek out "human" stories about "human" athletes.

Cool post.

It still blows my mind how we are so interconnected these days yet people are being killed and abused en masse and the news isn't spreading nearly as fast as it should.

These are people just like Ukrainians and Israelis/Palestinians are people. Why isn't news on this more wide spread? nostr:nevent1qgsvmmxrr3kegphf5lttqpn5z24xv8vax8yqxhpl6ewqvvqarjkrhysqypwm2ufrmrffc8c06rjpxhd5u665yg02600gadhd5cjskss9dp6n52csex3

And make sure you have a spare tire with the proper equipment to change a tire if need be! I can't tell you how many times I've luckily had it without intended for it!
