Goodness fucking me😳. NOBODY is ready for this. Give it a go, by all means.

GN🙋🏻‍♂️🫂.

Oooh I like it, thanks!

Not quite, but arguably the data Google gets may not be that useful when coming from a Tor exit relay of which the entry was a VPN server.

The idea of being able to read how people view the world, even if they write in Chinese, Khazak, Spanish.. just awesome.

I don't know what else I'm missing out on, as I haven't had it before.

Just found out one of the reasons the fdroid version of #amethyst is half the size of the Google Play version is that it has been completely degoogled..

..and as obvious it may sound I did not realize that was the reason for the auto-translate feature not being available.

I wonder what other features/functionality the fdroid version is lacking, then!

solana, the network that has the trump and melania memecoins on it, has completely seized up after hitting around 800 transactions per second. users are reporting 5+ hour delays in withdrawing SOL and USDC from CEX onto this network. coinbase has started to just cancel all of the stuck transactions. the largest DEX aggregator on the network is also shitting itself.

the solana developers lied about the performance of the network. they are claiming that it can handle thousands of TPS in the marketing materials but it is unable to deliver acceptable performance before it even hits 1000. the same marketing materials claim it has thousands (plural) of validators but the real number is slightly north of 1000, because it requires enterprise grade hardware to run a validator. these validator nodes are struggling to keep up even when run by seasoned professionals, as evidenced by the CEX issues.

this is just reinforcing my belief that big block scaling is not going to work. the solana developers shunned layered architecture and stuck with big blocks because it was the easy path. they were rightfully afraid of confusing their users with different layers and they built it as all one thing. this ended up destroying the user experience anyway.

you need layered architecture. the challenge is in building second layer scaling solutions that don't suck for the user. it should be easy and safe, and ideally the user shouldn't even notice that there are different layers. bitcoin and ethereum are the only two cryptocurrencies that are actively focusing on layered architecture and neither one is quite there yet. one or two UX issues are all it takes for people to disengage and go with a custodian or an altcoin.

Except that it wasn't the Solana network, but the applications trying to offer extreme amounts of trades in extreme volatility, with little slippage, while under attack by arb bots, etc.

But you're frustrated because you're a Coinbase user and you have your CEX stop working every time something exciting happens and you just have to vent your frustration, and that's a fine way of addressing the symptoms. On top of that your Solflare wallet is not only blocking your VPN connections, your Phantom wallet doesn't have enough infrastructure to handle > 8,000,000 transactions/minute.

Life sucks, but handling 800 TPS is not something the Solana network struggles with.

Investigating the cons of running #OpenBSD I realized I can easily do without Bluetooth. Still on Linux, but disabled it in BIOS already!

You're replying a screenshot, make it make sense? You're replying to someone reporting an issue, that he must report the issue.. what's this, do you only accept positive criticism? Or do you require your users to go through hoops to register on yet another bugtracker where you can block them if you don't like what they're saying, and people that don't go through those hoops must shut up because they don't care?

I think YOU don't care enough, this surely convinced me to never consider #Pixelfed

I have found my lost love for music and sound, strangely with the Koss Porta Pro that has been sitting in a box with old tech stuff about 4 feet away from my desk, in which it has been for over 15 years.

It just needed Yaxi pads.

I have since ordered the rhythm beige version, but replaced the defunct drivers with one of the old sets I already had. In that order I couldn't miss out on the KPH40, to which I'm currently listening.

The KPH40 on Android combination is using the USB-C dongle with its DAC that tested to be better resolving than the phone and laptop soundcards, replaced the pads for Yaxi's again for that extra bit of spatial improvement, using Wavelet with the AutoEQ for this headphone model, Spotify with its 320k non-normalising setting.

I have however been preferring the classic Porta Pro's lately without EQ directly on the 3.5mm port of the laptop for its enjoyable warm and playful sound and less fatigueing highs.. I suppose it depends on what I'm concentrating on, how tired I am, or the type of music I want to listen to.

The Porta Pro and KPH40 are a great pair!

The sound of not a single sat leaving my wallet for this poll.

That's quite a contrary view (most people are expecting FIAT to lose value much faster), the money in the bank is not yours, you're holding cash I assume?

I don't know where it's going to, when it's taken out of the market, I would assume it's not staying idle on their bank accounts.

Could you elaborate? I love hearing different opinions and ideas!
