⚡ Zaps For All ⚡
I’m thrilled to announce our new API enabling zaps in ANY app.
Zaps are a new, jaw dropping customer experience for the world and Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) is the first Other Stuff killer feature of Nostr.
Use our API to enable zaps in your app without needing to integrate Nostr or Bitcoin and without your users needing a Nostr account.
To show what’s possible, we built the first app - a Zap Bot that enables zapping in Discord. Want to add the bot to your server? Message us at https://www.makeprisms.com/zapbot

If any of you nostriches want to see what building a nostr app is all about I will be live streaming some basics (including using NDK) in 20 minutes. $boost
I'll be live at https://twitch.tv/plebdevs, and the recording will be posted on YouTube.

At 4pm CST today I’ll be going through some tips and tricks to level up an Express API. Hope to see you there! $boost.

TLDR: host your own password manager.
Password managers are great, but you run the risk of the company getting hacked as has happened to LastPass and others. You could use something like Bitwarden and set up 2FA and use a Yubikey. This will protect you against your passwords getting hacked, but if the company’s servers go down then you’re screwed. If you enable cache then you might be ok, but you’re still relying on a third party to store your data and if you opt for the plan with yubikey you have to pay a ~$10 annual subscription.
Solution: host your own instance of Bitwarden (Vaultwarden). Not only do you get to keep the convenience of using a password manager, but you can rest easy knowing you’re hosting your data in your own server. This does require you spin up a server, which can be done fairly easily nowadays. I’m a big fan of StartOS from nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll they sell plug and play servers, but you can use an old laptop if you don’t want to buy new hardware.
I would suggest you keep the passwords to the Server and Vaultwarden on a piece of paper inside a tamper evident bag. This way you keep the gatekeeper passwords offline, and if someone were to come across those passwords at your house they would still need to know what to do with it (go to your server LAN address). There are some tradeoffs and nuances, but I think this is a pretty solid option

I mean a new ThinkCentre would be reasonable as well. I have no idea on the best SSD
I don’t come to the #Nostr expecting anything, but if you wouldn’t mind boosting this note I’d appreciate it. 🙏
I’m one of the founders of nostr:npub1hxfkcs9gvtm49702rmwn2aeuvhkd2w6f0svm4sl84g8glhzx5u9srk5p6t, a community of noderunners on the Nostr, currently with over 340 member nodes and an active Telegram group, where we help new and experienced users connect, share knowledge, and expand the Lightning network together.
I started my journey into running a bitcoin and Lightning node in early 2021, when I was one of the first 100 members of Plebnet.
Built on a Raspberry Pi4 with 8 GB of ram, my current node, Dan on the Moon now runs 60 channels with a total capacity of nearly 175 million sats.
In early January, 2023, soon after joining the Nostr, I realized there was no organized group of noderunners, so I decided to start one along with a few other people. Within 3 months, we had reached 200 members, and are on track to double that by our one year anniversary.
Due to the current high-fee environment, my node hardware is struggling under the load. With no way to expand memory and disk space in the current configuration, it's due for an upgrade.
Because it runs Umbrel, I've decided the path of least resistance will be to purchase an Umbrel Home, which sells for $500 US, and ships with a migration assistant to seamlessly move all of the existing node data and channels.
In the future, I plan to also build a second node on custom-built components, but the current need is to keep this node stable and not end up in a situation where any of my channels get force-closed.
If I am able to raise the funds through Geyser, the node will be renamed "The Nodestrich" and will provide more stability for my channel peers, who have been some of the most supportive and helpful people I have met since I started my journey.
Thank you! 💜⚡️🫂
I got a refurbished ThinkCentre that's significantly cheaper and has a surprising amount of power for the price.

Still working on all the edge cases, but now you can zap prisms faster than ever before.
1. Make sure you are using a browser extension that supports nwc (Alby).
2. Click on profile pics to see the error.
3. Include a comment to send to everyone in the prism along with your zap (nice for zapvertising).
4. Notify everyone you paid by broadcasting a "prism zap receipt".
$boost $like for sats :D

But would Mutiny support a change to the spec that allows for this? Right now, there's only `pay_invoice` that accepts 1 invoice. There should either be a new method or `pay_invoice` should allow for many invoices. We are hoping to collaborate with Alby and Mutiny on improving NWC, I sent you a DM.
Would Mutiny support an NWC payment request with many invoices? This solves half the problem
nostr:npub1cd0l3s6qgj0s6690rtkys39mgj5upwxpm4856nhmce0pyqu6xj9qh7xlvx I tested this using NWC with a budget of 1000 sats but it stopped after 28 zaps. Do you know why?

If you click the “+91” it will open up everyone you’re trying to zap and then if you click their profiles you can see the errors. Lots of edge cases to handle so if you see anything weird please let us know.
Now use https://listr.lol to zap everyone in any list! $boost nostr:npub1zuuajd7u3sx8xu92yav9jwxpr839cs0kc3q6t56vd5u9q033xmhsk6c2uc
