I’m just a pizza guy

Apparently, I screwed up when I switched from Damus to Prinal. I don’t think I used my secret key. I think I used a public key which regenerated a new secret key???

Anyway - if you want to follow me, please follow me on primal.

Here is my public key for that. I Will not be posting on this site any longer - except for For maybe this reminder every once in a while because I am a non-techie idiot. :-)

Our son went to USC in 2011. Stayed there after college. Finally had enough of ridiculous rents, out of sight gas prices, and a myriad of other exorbitant costs, fees, taxes.

And Gavin newsom’s (what a POS) enslavement of them - while that bastard dined at The French Laundry…

My son and his GF left for Texas a few months back. I can not believe Newsome won his recall by 63%. Hopefully this ends his political career, and people finally outvote the far left. Even beyond the horrific fires, It’s just sad to see what has become of that state. I wish you well sir.

I feel very sorry for those trapped in California, that have tried to save that place, or can’t leave, or out voted by the far left. I hope those that have continually voted to destroy that place, finally change their path. How Newsome - after enslaving that population - while dining at at the French Laundry - won by 63% in his recall is beyond me…

I get not wanting to hear all the bs out there. But I think feeedom lovers can make great headway on Twitter, Facebook. The arguments need to be made and hopefully we pull some that lean toward the far left, to a more middle ground. I think efforts like that helped move America to the center right this time around.

Happy New Year Bitcoiners. I wish you the best in 2025 and beyond.

With all due respect, this meme is just too simplistic.

I live in Michigan. And when then covid bullshit started - or I should say - the response to a flu that merely 99.9% survive, red states (albeit after a few treasonous weeks) were much, much better than (read: freer) than Blue states. By a mile. Not even close.

Luckily we live 20 minutes from Indiana and we were down there 2-3 times a week for some freedom. I also drove to Florida 5x’s (because I would not wear their god damn slave mask to fly). I’m pretty libertarian, and I’d much rather have a Rand Paul, or Thomas Massie, but I’ll take 3/4 a loaf toward freedom with a republican (or even 1/2 a loaf) this time around. If all politicians and all sides were equal, where does Bukele fall? Is it not better for El Salvador that he is President (no hero worshiper here, as the saying goes: always be prepared to slay your heroes) for now? I think it’s unquestionably a yes. And which side currently is for free speech, which side more pro bitcoin?

Boomer here as well. Not techie, just a simple pizza guy that wants to promote/save freedom.

I’ve read The Bitcoin Standard and Hard $ U can’t F with, and I agree. I would add The Price of Tomorrow, Check Your Financail Privilege, The Genesis Book. Along the road I also picked up Confessions of an Economic Hitman.

Magic Capital Bitcoin

Colon, Michigan March 23, 2024

Hello everyone, just wanted to give you an update of how our meetup went.

Our second Bitcoin meetup took place on March 23, 2023, with an impressive turnout of around 20 attendees hailing from various locations including Detroit, Toledo, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, and Indiana.

A standout presentation was delivered by Blake Kaufman, a dedicated college student currently enrolled at MSU, who introduced his groundbreaking project: the Blitz Wallet.

This Bitcoin-exclusive wallet, designed by Blake, aims to simplify transactions without any associated fees.

Blake's hour-long presentation captivated the audience with its structure, clarity, and wealth of information. He also welcomed and addressed questions and suggestions from the attendees. Emphasizing the concept of "banking the unbanked," Blake highlighted the staggering statistic that one billion people worldwide remain unbanked in 2024, underscoring Bitcoin's potential to address this issue. Blake's ultimate goal is to make his wallet easily accessible to people worldwide, aligning with his vision of financial inclusivity.

One notable feature Blake is working on - that I found very, very impressive - is a gift wallet option. Which would allow users to instantly share a pre-loaded wallet simply by sending a text message—to anyone.

I can already see bitcoiners sending these to a taxi driver, server, a friend for a birthday, Christmas, etc.

How many times have we tried to have a friend or newbie download a wallet and we say, “Download a wallet and I’ll send ya 10 bucks in bitcoin”? Sometimes they do, and sometimes they just won’t. For whatever reason. But I think with a PRE-LOADED wallet it would be much, much easier.

I am very much looking forward to this.

Following the presentation, attendees enjoyed a meal at Five Star Pizza and continued discussions at

The Colon American Legion, fostering a sense of community among Bitcoin enthusiasts.

We eagerly anticipate hosting Bitcoiners in Colon on - at least -

a quarterly basis and we invite anyone interested to connect with us at Magic Capital Bitcoin, on Twitter (X), Orange Pill App, Telegram and soon, Nostr.

Hope to see you soon!

Carl

I’m not techie.

Just a freedom loving pizza guy, that was already pretty libertarian.

I’ve read a bunch of books the last 4 years going down the BTC rabbit holes(s).

The Bitcoin Standard

Hard Money You Can’t F With

Check Your Financial Privilege

Confessions of an Economic Hitman

Softwar

Quite a few others.

Tons of hours of podcasts.

Bitcoin Conferences.

Really can’t read Mastering Bitcoin (just way out of my depth)

Any suggestions of books/podcasts that are a bit more techie, without going crazy deep?

nostr:npub1pwjfalkqp96hj5w5err96ytu4tytpwta7uhqxgfkrqe5frqgjutqtcf03f Is there an easy way to follow certain accounts? I haven’t seen yours in awhile. Had to search for it. Will there be “groups” like in telegram or WhatsApp?

Had our second Bitcoin meetup here at Magic Capital Bitcoin, here in Colon, Michigan. Went very well. Thank you to all that made the effort to get here. And a Special thank you to Blake Kaufman presenting his wallet and Eric for making the connection. Inspiring young men making a real difference.

Hope to see some of you tomorrow. Goodnight.

I go to NYC several times per year for one reason or another. For work, for friends, etc.

Part of me likes it, but part of me gets fucking frustrated multiple times per day every time I am here. (Sorry, this is a Nostr Lyn post).

There are plenty of neat things in NYC that I can’t do at the same scale/quality elsewhere in the world due to the network effects around the city (broadway shows, financial district, etc), and yet after a day or two all I want to do is leave. It feels claustrophobic on multiple fronts.

People all have different vibes but for me, major cities are fun to visit but smaller secondary cities or suburbs around cities are so much smoother to live in. I can’t imagine living all the time in a major city.

The same applies to Cairo, to which I have been in far more total days than NYC. I like Cairo’s satellite cities but not Cairo itself other than going briefly.

Every time I am in a major city I am immediately reminded of the luxury of space, nature, quiet, parking spaces, and chillness of not being in a city. Everything I take for granted normally is now a luxury to fight for in a city.

Even politics are largely correlated to urbanization. If you live in rural or suburban areas, you likely drive around in your own car, you might have some land, etc. Your interaction with the local government exists in a moderate sense. The potential weakness is that you are more likely to always be around those who are similar to you, which minimizes your worldliness.

In contrast to all that, in major cities, everything is so tightly packed, and people rely on public transportation, and even a momentary lapse of government services (eg trash collection) becomes an acute catastrophe. But on the beneficial side, people are around those who are different than them more often, which breeds worldliness.

That’s why I tend to like the zone between rural and major cities. I like secondary cities or suburbs of major cities, because I get a bit of both worlds. The density and interconnectedness of major cities briefly, and the space and self-autonomy outside of them most of the time.

And yet I was born and raised in that sort of inbetween state, and so maybe it is just my upbringing.

What about you? Can anyone sell me the idea of NYC or other major cities that I am missing, especially in the remote work era? I see glimpses of how it could be attractive if you are used to it and know every detail of your neighborhood, but it really does feel limiting to me.

My sister lived there for 25 yrs. I visited often. Our son went to USC. I visited LA often. Live in rural area 3 hrs east of Chicago. 3 hrs west of Detroit. Could be an age thing, but I’m over the traffic, and the decay I’ve seen in large cities in here in the US. Fun - maybe - to visit for a couple of days. Rural life - on a lake - much, much better.

Hope to see some of you here.

I used this app to help me put together our first meetup a few months ago. Really helped in meeting people. Ty all very much. Next meetup March 23rd! Please join if you can. :)

My grandson and I in Madeira for Bitcoin Atlantis. What a great event and an absolutely beautiful place. Wow…
