Loving Nostr... I run a UK relay (the first UK Paid Relay) at https://nostr.naut.social Price 4000sats. Which Paid Relays to join? Ones near you, (for speed), some around the world, (for reach). Ones focussed on specific interests/groups you like, (not sure if any exist yet, but they will)

There are blends and blends.

Cheap blends are for, cheap but OK. High end blends are for taste.

It's more expensive than most single malts. Not a mad price though :-)

Russia does belong in Europe. Except perhaps for the poor bastard Siberians they steamrollered and of course the large chunk of China they stole when China was weak.

But Europe, TBH has never been an oasis of love. It's always been a battleground, and pretty much between blocks from Lithuanian Empire blocking the Mongols onwards, until finally after WW2 we agreed we had had enough. Well, all the bits outside the Iron Curtian. They jumped over in 89/90.

Hopefully a future Russian leadership will give a damn about their people and become decent too. But this leadership, isn't.

I find a lot of the early Christians very impressive. Money and property held communally, proper attention paid to Matthew when he talks about giving away your wealth.

The subsequent history of Christianity mainly shows that a lot can go wrong over a couple of millenia :-)

Can't run a node when Internet is crap because it never syncs. I know, I tried.

KEYS is the key. Keep all your cold coin yourself. EVERYONE can do that :-)

Countries have the right to decide which other countries they want to align with. Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and others all fled the warm embrace of Russia as fast as rhey possibly could.

As sovereign countries they can join any alliances they like. If you want them to join yours, you win them by being nice.

Russia, in seeing countries all want to join NATO is reaping the results of it's own policies over the past decades.

If you support people being free, it's simple. Russia INVADED. After promising not to.

Once war starts, it gets messy. There are no angels in a war, and you are always choosing to side with one or the other. Trying bto sit out is to side with the strongest. Sometimes you have no choice - the West couldn't help Tibet when China invaded, but Ukraine, we can. The supply lines work, the logistics work, we can help.

WRT Ukraine, we can help Ukraine or we can accept a Russian win for aggression. Only you can know where your consience lies.

Me, I've sent money. I'd have hosted a refugee family as well, but my boat only has one bedroom.

Sometimes you have to stand up. He's already invaded Ukraine, he's not going to do anything re the Court.

History suggests that while some Dictators die abed, many don't. We can but hope :-)

My ex wife was part of a human shield the day AFTER the Red Army shot 20 civilians. Lukashenko killed an acquaintance of mine, one of the most impressive people I ever knew - Anatoly Krasovsky

Soon? No. But dictators look solid until, suddenly, they are not.

Milosevich didn't expect to end up there, but once he lost power, oops.

Will Putin stay in power until he dies peacefully in old age? Maybe. But if not, whoever takes charge has a great option for putting him well out of the way.

Does anyone know if Google is logging Nostr notes yet?

I'm guessing we are Google free, at least until the Google Relay turns up and everyone proves that FREE beats Decentralised...

Looking forward to bitcoin being boring.

1 BTC = 1 little tiny 5 bedroom house

Natural family structures range from single parent through to multigenerational semi clans (cousins, aunts, uncles in close proximity, if not same dwelling).

Europe has perfectly natural family structures. Enforced two parents where they no longer wish to be together, is the cause of much abuse.

That would be nice, but the market is getting more efficient, which means less dramatic over time. I'd LIKE 420, I'll take 200. I'll be taking my stake back above 100K, because playing with free money is way more fun :-)

It's never done so for me. Just checked to see if this was a NOW issue and it's still kushti

Just called woke.

There's a first time for everything.

Mind you, his green frog thing was probably a hint that it might go that way:-)

Would def punt sats to anyone who rolls out a "block the block bots" tool.

Mate, I'm long but BTC isn't a new girlfriend whoi is so lovely I don't want to miss a single breath.

Family structure, ranged widely over time, and enforced nucleation was a lot of hidden abuse.

I see no signs of hatred between men and women here. Where are you getting your news? Fox?

Pension system, fundamentally a side effect of other countries growing instead of remaining usefully poor commodity exporters. A lot of Europe over promised on the pension front when times were good, and have been caught out by globalisation and smaller families. Maths is brutal at times.

If you don't want a debate, don't post generalist nonsense. Or block me, that's a feature of Nostr.

I live here. Brexit was a shitshow and we've had clowns in charge ever since.

It's been interesting, in the manner of the Chinese curse... But, I have some BTC, so, fuck'em.

Think carefully about what you want re climate, culture and language.

If you go somewhere where you don't speak the language, everyone will be fine for a few months, but after that, you'll be considered rude to have not done so. How obvious people make it will depend - in the UK we do it by being perfectly polite :-)

DO pay attention to paperwork re working and taxes, and if you buy property, in many countries it's worth talking to several lawyers and getting all the paperwork verified by a different lawyer as soon as you think you own it. Be aware that in many countries you will not be able to buy property.

Ad hoc reminder that IF you want a decentralised Nostr, about 20% of your relays should be smaller ones.

nostr.naut.social is just 4K , UK based.

WHY is bitcoin resilient right now?

My take, people have decided that "the next halving will be good" and the market is becoming more efficient, so that price rise should start to get factored in ever earlier.

Result - we are starting to feel that this far out. Prices will be volatile, but I suspect that there won't be any big drops from here, and if there are, they will be quickly recovered.

Keep stacking :-)

On one hand, loving the move. OTOH, my next bonus is due at the end of April and it looks like the sats will be expensive.

Still a total steal on my 5-10 year investment horizon, but still, I hoped to buy at UKP20K...

If you want privacy, using a literal ledger is a category error. Every attempt to load privacy into a literal record of all transactions is going to be, at best, a work around.

There are coins designed to be private, and I'm, happy to accept that they are, but BTC isn't one of them.

The State will decide how much privacy you can have with BTC - mainly of course, it simply doesn't care, until it thinks you are breaking laws to the extent that the effort is warranted.

Unpopular Opinion: Bitcoin is hard money.

This is a very good thing, but some people read too much into it. If you live somewhere, you are only ever as sovereign as the laws of that state allow you to be. Bitcoin doesn't change that.

Music : The Belle of Belfast City as it should ALWAYS be done.
