what is the dirty record of keet? no doubt tether is a ptoblem with all its involvement to pump crypto, including btc
they have had a history of not releasing new modules code until they are happy they work well and wont be changed much in the near term
replace both nostr and signal with keet and be free of servers
most of keet is foss and they have said the rest will be
not true as the pear release had a massive open sourcing with it including most of the modules in keet
keet is in no way the same app it was 3, 6 or 18 months ago
it is what its made out to be and works very well
sounds too good to be true? which bit? lol, i have followed it since starting and it went thru many issues and a long period where it didnt scale well at all, but now that has been solved
i am not sure whats the point of doubting it as you can run keet or run pear and see it work pears.com
most of the application is the 'protocol' code which is open, but the ui and some other parts are not open yet
how it works is apparently not that complicated, you can browse a lot of the not yet open code in keet still, i know someone chatting on keet was exploring a beta version of a module called autobase before it was open sourced and worked out how it works, it is central to how the rooms run https://github.com/holepunchto/autobase

no sorry, i know for me p2p is super cool and if the data is not passing centralized points its harder to collect

i know they are very focused on security and privacy

the rest of the code is mostly viewable and all will be open after beta, they need to keep people updated as they iterate and they dont want to be chasing problems from forks currently
Keet is not open source, simplex integration with nostr would be awesome, there’s also https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1206 haven’t gone through it yet, but looks promising on the surface.
