relays should have pubkeys, then you could do fun things like skipping dns and tls, just use noise protocol (Noise_XK_secp256k1_ChaChaPoly_SHA256) and ip. You could also p-tag relay pubkeys for relay specific notes. may nip this.

Would definitely help relay discovery and management. NOSTR domains is how I interpret this
I think this is already a thing in NIP-29
Banger mate.
Requests themselves (from one relay to another or from an app to a relay) could be a kind of signed note. Would be handy for personal private relays.

👆👆 look this spam it’s impossible to stop it the way #nostr is designed around relays.
It’s going to be a nightmare like Twitter has become.
Being p2p-first can give the OP control over who replies to them.
Websockets first design seems to be a mistake and I think we should talk about making notes protocol agnostic.
This will increase a lot the work to be done by clients as they will have to ask many peers for notes and build a timeline after that but it’s the price to sovereign being.
Cool! This would grab a big part of infrastructure. How would you assign IPs to pubkeys?
What if relays become the fabric of the internet? No more servers, nor DNS, just the IP, nostr, Bitcoin, and blossom protocols. It's all nodes/relays, and your notes and other stuff just gets cached and passed along to where they're wanted.
what you are describing is p2p so like pear and keet does, infact this is the vision for pear
pears.com is perfect for this
