Software developer and musician, traveling around the world. Trying to be a good human.

We had some reservations when we decided to spend a few weeks travelling to #Seoul. However, the city completely surprised us - in a positive way. The people are very open-minded, helpful and anything but aloof. We often felt reminded of #Latin-America, where people approached us on the street or on public transport to help us or just to get to know us.

Unfortunately, South Korea is a high-tax country and is out of the question for our further planning. However, we will visit it again and again once we have established our bases around the world.

In March 2025 we will set up the first base in #Europe (outside the EU) and 2 years later the next one will be in Latin America - probably in Argentina.

I will write another small article about our considerations.

For now, we are enjoying our stay in other parts of South Korea until our journey takes us to the next country in #Asia.

I ended up with a Start9 after listening to this episode: https://fountain.fm/episode/2xVRHjCXDNgpwLEcBflA

If I remember correctly - Matt gave several reasons why umbrel is not the way to go. Beware they use adult language.

Thanks for the advice. I'll listen to the podcast this evening!

GM and ... yep, I'm on it ⚡️⚡️

#Start9 or #Umbrel?

Playing with the idea of setting up a home server to host my own BTC node, open my own lightning channel, host some movies. Custom hardware (AMD, 16 core, 96GB Ram, 4TB HD) ... no crazy stuff

What would be the better choice? Start9 or Umbrel? They both look good, Umbrel seems to have more out of the box apps on their marketplace.

Any advice?

Thank you!

got it, configured it, started it

Time to say #goodbye to #seoul. We really enjoyed the weeks in thie part of #Korea and definately will return soon (tm)

Every day up to 10 times an alert message on every mobile device. #southkorea

Also heard it in the last podcast episode of einundzwanzig (nostr talk). The only thing I remember is zap.store (which I'm using - and which is great!)
