What kind of backdoors are there in the chips? That concerns me. I know there's probably other options out there, and I need to explore.

Yeah, thing is they're not tracking you - or they weren't, initially, that was done by Google, but now they want your personal info - and, while I think about it, they introduced some opt in Pokémon Go type game so they've been seeking location data as well
Tbf they don't track you, Google does and they'll do that regardless of if you give them permission....but now smiles are asking for your number it's not even a simple safeish introduction to stacking a few sats now for newbies
