Halfway through the third book of "Three Body Problem" and I'm already getting anxiety from the prospect of finishing the book. Insane saga, it gets even better after the second half of the second book (thanks nostr:npub1emdtsxly9m68m00x206t574jttp65vk0c2m89ms038q047yz7ylqcac9awfor the tip).
What epic science riction do you recommend for me next? The heavier the science, the better!

Fantastic trilogy!
Unbelievable. Glad I’ve been yelling from the Reddit rooftops about reddits shitcoins and nostr for months. nostr:note12syy9d4ruqzvehgptjhar7djhv7dfps5wyqvea8h8q7n5uyv74vsq3wywh
Charging $1 a year to Tweet and Retweet may not seem like a lot, however optics matter. It sets the stage to charge more in the future, it makes the service no longer free, and most importantly, it makes Twitter no longer the public square where anyone is able to freely talk - a point in which Elon likes to state, but continues to erode.
While on the NOSTR we happily Zap developers more than $1 worth of sats quite often and some could agree that it's a similar task to paying a measily 4000 sats, it's not. It's not a requirement. It's not forced. The NOSTR is completely free and open. The openness is the difference. The NOSTR is the public square.

As nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx has claimed all along… it’s probably less about the money then it is tying an advertising target to your KYC profile from the payment.
Months ago a relatively large figure on nostr publicly said they were going to ask another user if they could reveal their identity in relation to a questioning post from a third party.
They then proceeded to DM the public profile of the anonymous user using nostr DMs with public metadata. It was a relatively insignificant thing and the identity was shared publicly after so I didn’t raise this as a big deal, but it was still a fail from someone who should have been aware of the issue.
iCloud across my iPhone and Mac for personal. Also trialing it at work and just backing up to a Google drive. Need to look at some options like syncthing to make sure I have some non-Apple backups of the files! I don’t know what I’ll do if I move to Android
The Daily note feature and templater plug-in are what really sold me. Also being able to just copy paste a vault with all settings is so satisfying
I am going to slightly eat crow on this one and say that Obsidian is awesome. Onus is on the user to figure out syncing and I do wish they were fully open-source, but I fully understand people wanting to protect their right to earn a living off something amazing they have built.
The productivity benefits from the open file format and extensibility via plug-ins and templates, combined with good UI is undeniable. nostr:note1x7q9t9k6z79mfmr25mffz9205aeezhqush79pcwky566v92hafwsmlm3ay
Perfect. I figured it had to be there. Thanks!
Does anyone know if Damus still has a way to copy a the full nostr event text? I can’t seem to find it, which would be pretty disappointing if that feature is gone. Hope I’m just missing it!

I am looking into iCloud as a solution and it may work better than I expected. Might not work for company data, but thanks for the reminder that it’s an option!
I work across iOS, Mac, Windows, and Linux for work and personal so iCloud is less than ideally. I’m surprised there isn’t support for other cloud providers and/or WebDAV
I should clarify that this is most relevant for mobile, but I’m not going to use a notes app that can’t sync to effectively mobile in 2023
Finally playing with obsidian today… super impressed, but the extremely shitty options for sync feel like an intentional lock-in strategy for a software that claims to be open.
That 6" fan definitely isn't silent but pulls enough airflow to allow for "max" 110V hashing (15.5Th/s @ 1350W). It's louder than a typical bathroom exhaust fan but not as loud as a kitchen range hood. But similar in tone (i.e. not the annoying high-pitched whine of the stock fans).
I don't mind it running in the same room as me, but it's too loud to do a Zoom call near it.

The 4" fan IS silent enough and could happily run right under someone's work desk.
I expect you get quite a drop if you underclock it though right? I’m curious how it compares to some of the crypto cloaks testing data they provide with the double noctua set up!

Wow it sure does!
How has that setup with the ac infinity been running for you? Super quiet? Anything you would do differently? I’m finally getting ready to buy parts!
I still need to play with this, but it seems like it could be a really powerful tool when paired with communities! So that’s my request - moderated community support
I also don’t know how well it fits in a case
I’m still on the fence! I think my all in build cost is like $250 vs $325 depending on the build! That $70 might be worth the bedroom aspect though!
