This is basically what happened …
When the ruling party won, they started extinguishing trusts they deemed “corrupt” to reroute those funds into the Tren Maya (which is devastating the Mayan Jungle & acquifers), & Dos Bocas Refinery, two presidential projects being built by the military.
Amongst these trusts was the FONDEN. A relief fund meant for rapid response & emergency reconstruction for disaster areas.
Now that disaster struck, there’s no money & the military & it’s resources are being misused elsewhere.
Our Congress just passed the 2024 budget with $0 allocation to Acapulco.
Since 2024 is an election year, they are underreporting the death toll, pretending everything is fine while there’s definitely a media blackout around it.
It’s astounding that a 1M pop city got erased & it’s not on the news …
