The Bitcoin rabbit hole is narrow and then broadens out the more you discover. I see nostr very similar. People will and are adopting as a social media alternative to big tech, but it has the ability to go way beyond social media. I could host my entire farm business on here if I wanted. It could swallow all e commerce transactions in the future buying directly from producers with no middlemen.
The potential is unbound which is my base case for defining a rabbit hole.
You make very valid points, but it doesn't fix "the" problem. It will fix an unknown number of problems with centralization. We could very well be looking at a future where families run nostr relays alongside Bitcoin nodes.

My read of the EO in it's entirety does not mention actually releasing the documents. This EO only requires that plans be given to the President for the release of the documents. Those plans could say to continue to withhold for X time... 🤷
