I dont know. Because there are many very good, polite devs. Unlike pretty much all other project there's no code of conduct or conduct norms. Something as simple as "be respectful", would be a big improvement. It's just a negative setup, compared with other FLOSS projects. I guess it's an experiment, in a way, too.

Nostr dev is the most hostile place on the open web. Recent comment from a new dev:

"Just asking questions there brings ad hominems, but yeah, I keep thinking of ways I can help turn it in the right direction."

fiatjaf talks about the nostr dev exodus. This is a big reason.

I am once again experiencing this situation with nostr where I only see my notes and notes from two other people.

Last time I waited a couple of weeks and it resolved itself so I still have no idea what's causing it.

Tweaked my relays several times with no change so far 🤷
