12 months off the booze today. It might not be for everyone, but it has bloody worked wonders for me and my family.

Every single aspect of my life is better. Do I sometimes miss it? Sure, but those moments are fleeting.

I'd go stay with a couple my parents knew when I was around 10. We'd play cards and she'd let me win so I'd take quite a bit of pocket money home. They had two lovely white husky type dogs and horses on some land. But they were massive alcoholics. They'd drink and argue all the time. He dropped me off once with a can of beer on the go in the car. I noticed all this even at that age. She died on her own and nobody found her for several days. Don't know what happened to him. The damage that alcohol does isn't worth even having it in moderation imo. In the UK you dabble around 13/14, go to bars underage as soon as you look old enough then carry on getting shitfaced your whole life. That was me up until not too long ago. It's just what you did. Pretty retarded if you think about it. Trend is worsening the harder fiat life gets too.

This year has been nothing short of life-changing.

I still remember the holidays when I couldn’t be with my family, when I had little to give besides love, and even then, love was enough.

But in spring 2023, I made a decision. I was done playing small, done holding back, done settling for less than I deserved. I chose to believe in myself fully. I spent the summer doing the hard work: learning, growing, sharpening my skills, prioritizing my health, reclusing from the people and places that didn’t serve me, protecting my energy, and leaning deeply into my faith. I knew I had more to give…to myself, to my family, to this life…and I wasn’t going to waste another second waiting for things to change. I was going to grab life by the horns!

And then, in February, everything shifted. An opportunity came my way that changed my life…mentally, physically, geographically, and especially financially. It was the result of every late night, every hard choice, every leap of faith. And let me tell you, it paid off in ways I never imagined.

In just a few days, I’ll be flying home to spend the holidays with the people I love most that I haven’t seen in so long. For two weeks, we’ll gather in a 28-bedroom sanctuary on the ocean, surrounded by wild horses. A space I created for us to reconnect, to celebrate, and to simply be together. My girls, my dad, my siblings, their families, our extended family…my ride-or-dies, all under one roof.

I made this happen. I set us all up to thrive. But more than that, I showed my kids something invaluable: that when you refuse to settle, when you’re willing to take risks and face failure head-on, when you learn to value your time and energy, anything is possible. I showed myself that the stories we tell about what’s “impossible” can be rewritten. Every barrier can be broken. Every limitation can be overcome.

And I’m not stopping here. 2025 is about taking things even further….creating more freedom, owning my time, and building a life that’s truly my own. Detached from the fiat hamster wheel, and board meetings, and 9-5’s. I’m setting myself free.

But right now, it’s about being present. About resting in the gratitude of this moment and soaking up the love and joy that got me here. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that no matter where you start, transformation is possible. You just have to believe in yourself enough to begin again.

During the bear market I stopped drinking alcohol, stopped watching porn, deleted Twitter, stopped playing videogames, and stopped going on dates with women I wouldn't want to marry.

I started meditating, praying, going to the gym, focusing on my health, focusing on relationships, and focusing on training my dogs.

In the process I accumulated more bitcoin than I have ever had before.

Seems like the companies buying bitcoin are all relatively crappy without any real product. Basically zombie companies looking for a cheat code.

Nation states buying bitcoin is like telling citizens to their face that fiat money is fake.

Strategic Bitcoin reserve is another way of saying we also want some the real stuff in case it catches on and people discover that our stuff is fake.

I think it’s ok to share this - got a dm about badges and how they could be repurposed to award certificates. I thought this was a neat idea. Imagine getting your rectification tied to your npub, proving you completed whatever it is you took. It whole be incredibly easy to verify as long as the organization npub is easily verifiable.
