Almost 10 years into the Ethereum project and tbh I’m still waiting to see why it exists.
The dollar is becoming more affordable on a Bitcoin standard. If money is scarce you have abundance. If money is not scarce, you have poverty.
Price of Bitcoin going up is just an illusion.
When you adopt a Bitcoin standard you’ll see that really the dollar is going down when priced in BTC, and it will continue to go down.
I’ve started cracking my window when I sleep even though it’s cold.
Fresh air is big ups.
My biggest dream in life is to work at Block with nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m to bring Bitcoin to the people and work on scaling solutions.
I am considering doing this but I haven’t committed yet.
I want to spend more time on nostr.
Bitcoin is hope. Bitcoin is freedom.
Freedom of expression built on a free and open network feels so good.
Twitter just offers Elon-censorship instead of Blue America-censorship.
FREE SPEECH / NO CENSORSHIP is the Bitcoin way!! 🙌
For decades now the US has been focused on scaling up its impact across the globe and introducing economic and political dependencies for other nations. It feels like now is the moment when it becomes clear that the US is not healthy at home, and it is absurd that we would hope to instill our brand of highly-polarized infighting on other nations who are on the up-and-up.
Do y’all see Bitcoin as more of a discovery, or an invention?
Does anyone else think that this whole NFTs on Bitcoin thing is really freaking stupid?
I am a bit concerned that such nonsense is going to make transaction fees spike in the coming bull market and make it more expensive for Plebs that are just trying to execute their normal accumulation strategy to settle their transactions.
Jeff, I am so grateful for your contributions. Not only do I take a lot of value from the knowledge you share, but I’ve realized I also take a lot of hope and joy from your perspective. In these uncertain times I can get a little scared about whether I will be able to afford an optimistic future for myself. When I listen to you speak I feel great peace and positivity. I’ll just keep buying my $200/wk of Bitcoin and I feel like I’ll be okay.
You can, umbrel uses docker so you can install webservers like nginx or caddy (it's not part of umbrel app list so you have to install and start those containers in command-line). Youcsn use webservers like caddy or nginx to retrieve SSL certificates from services like Let's Encrypt and use the certificates for your umbrel relay to make a secure websocket
if you're not familiar with networking I'd recommend to study up a little first because every container in umbrel runs in unsecured non SSL-mode (because umbrel is designed around using tor as proxy for everything) and you don't want to accidently open up the wrong ports you end up with containers reachable by clearnet
This video can help with docker networking. You might not end up going down this road, always good to learn something useful and better understand the software you are running https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKFMS5C4CG0
Appreciate the information, I’m watching that vid now.. 🤝
There are reasons to be optimistic. Exciting things are possible with technology.
Still waiting it would seem… 🤷♂️
Building up a distributed and cryptographically-provable authentication system is what I’m most interested in over the next 5 years. Vision is to make passwords a thing of the past. Sign into the session instead. I feel like the Bitcoin network is the place to build this.
Getting super real in Nigeria 🇳🇬 How easy is it for Nigerians to buy and hold Bitcoin right now? I’ve got to think that entrepreneurs across Africa and the world are looking at this obvious problem to be solved, and building products for the people 🌍
