Is this saying that #LinkedIn wants you to pay them to preserve your anonymity and to intrude on the anonymity of those who don't pay?

I would never trust a closed source VPN so their creepy behavior isn't that shocking. Still scummy though. I'd recommend Proton VPN or Mullvad.
nostr:npub1anv7gavpwt28mt59jrrpewqjsfc7xxlyccpu8zg52607z8sjwulsjyajmr With a VPN, the source code doesn't tell you much. By its nature, you hand a VPN all your traffic. The question is whether you can trust it with it.
When it comes to trust, Surfshark just took careful aim at its own foot and pulled the trigger.
Highly creepy. Got an email from #Surfshark saying "Just a heads up — you haven't been checking our emails lately, so in 5 days we'll be unsubscribing you from our email communication."
I read this as bragging that Surfshark uses web bugs to determine when people read their email. I open mail as text-only, avoiding detection. They don't like people who do that.
This is especially disturbing from a #VPN company that sells privacy as its main product.
Among the dumbest and for me the most interfering of the early #COVID decrees was the attempt to make the virus stop at state lines. I must have committed a dozen crimes crossing the NH/Massachusetts line without quarantining.
Recently learned that the Aramaic equivalent to the Hebrew "shalom" and the Arabic "salaam" is "shlam." Sounds a bit muddy to me. :)
The #Nazis committed many of the worst crimes in history, and going after them with all the force of the law was the right thing to do. But is there really any point to prosecuting a 98-year-old 78 years later? https://theweek.com/speed-reads/1026249/98-year-old-holocaust
The #BBC news website is reaching new depths of clickbait, with headlines that have nothing to do with the article they link to.
nostr:npub1ks4j70qusuv7hnaqcrr3azks95fxjpz4sx29sy9h35z3vltwaunsmdx88p There was also an anti-Federalist faction, which included Patrick Henry, Sam Adams, and James Monroe. They didn't necessarily all think the Articles of Confederation were adequate, but they thought the Constitution went too far the other way. The Bill of Rights was added to satisfy these concerns.

nostr:npub1cy06su88dl9crjvthx56mdpgd0m9dauplnjf58rvcqynj6p8uygq9uggw4 "Poverty draft" implies they're forced into military service. What constitutes this "forcing"? "Money for education." "Income to send to their families." In other words, they're being "threatened" with a better life.
The threat of deportation could a legitimate issue, but the article doesn't mention anyone joining to avoid being deported.
The #Georgia case against #Trump seems especially strong. Telling Raffensberger "I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state" isn't a call to investigate real or imagined fraud; it's a call to deliver the election.
When people are rude or annoyingly dumb, I may mute them but generally don't block them. They might still learn something from me. When their intent is to annoy and to troll, I block them, to keep them as far from my life as possible.
Also, I block people who explicitly identify with violent organizations.
Some on the left are cheering conservatives who say inflammatory rhetoric is grounds for disqualifying people for public office under the 14th Amendment. Opportunism at its worst.

At least one Mastodon site insists there should be a #contentWarning on any picture like this.

#Tusky Mastodon client maliciously redirects users trying to access some sites to an unrelated site, or at least it did at one time. https://ceur-ws.org/Vol-2737/FP_6.pdf
Just uninstalled #Tusky from my phone. I have no particular interest in accessing Gab, but I have a strong interest in being _able_ to access any site I want without having some developer decide I should be rickrolled instead.
To the #Trump gang in Londonderry #NewHampshire , anyone who follows the U.S. Constitution instead of their Leader is a "sellout" and "traitor."
