You don't have to shitpost your way to self custody. You can trade goods, services and fiat like a regular human.
I don't see any value in bitcoin without self custody and don't understand those who do. Custodial bitcoin is worth 0. There's much better custodial wallets and tokens.

I was so excited for PLN and later for the mutiny mainnet beta. They are crazy talented and pioneered many great inovations. AFAIK they were (and still are) the first self custody wallet with NWC support.
It's a sad day when a self custody wallet goes down instead of a custodian.

That's why it worked well, because the receiver is "new to crypto". That's because, to receive SP, receivers need to scan every block and every transaction so that they can perform a computation to determine if a certain address belongs to them.
That means that the longer you go between scans, the more blocks you need to download and process.
With BIP47, as a receiver, you just need to look for notification trabsactions, it's orders of magnitude faster.
Just a small caveat: for the first half of the loan, person A is mostly paying off interest without making a dent in the principal.
