It really has reached the point where it feels like he's saying, "No, I'm not corrupt. When you decide a case in their favor because they paid you, that's corrupt. But here, they paid me because I decided a case in their favor. It's as big a difference as the chicken and the egg."

Now this is hard, but I am going to admit I have no sympathy for this man's health problems. He violated his oath to uphold the constitution when he denied the senate its opportunity to hear from Merrick Garland.

The constitution calls for appointments to be conditioned on, "the Advice and Consent of the Senate." He stopped the Senate from being able to fulfill that role, so we didn't even get a chance at a justice we might have had.

Nope. No sympathy at all.

That is correct. But, considering if you or I had so much as put our hands on one of the folders those classified docs were in, we would be disappeared to a CIA black site, yet dippy roams un-tethered... is it really all that surprising?

That may not be exactly correct. As far as I can tell, any old citizen who simply possesses a classified document without being cleared is actually not committing a crime. The Espionage Act criminalizes disclosure to foreign nationals, unlawful retention (that is, refusing a request to turn them over), and a number of other things. But it does not appear to criminalize possession itself.

Please point me to the proper case or statute if I've missed it.
