Our dinner tonight as we celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day! πŸ•

Fortunately, this pizza did 𝙣𝙀𝙩 cost us a trillion sats. In fact, this was homemade with all-natural ingredients, so it was as unlike typical fiat food as we could make it.

And making it ourselves helped us to 𝘴𝘒𝘷𝘦 some precious sats! πŸ˜‰

"We will not retreat, though our numbers may be few

When compared with the opposite host in view;

But an unseen pow’r will aid me and you

In the glorious cause of truth.

Fear not, though the enemy deride;

Courage, for the Lord is on our side.

We will heed not what the wicked may say,

But the Lord alone we will obey."

-Evan Stephens

Our congregation in church just now:

"Onward, Christian soldiers!

Marching as to war,

With the cross of Jesus

Going on before."

My wife, whispering to me after the song: "I kept wanting to sing 'With the cross of freedom'. They're basically synonyms, so that's probably why."

My 16-year-old son: "You know your program is broken when you're not measuring it in frames per second, but in seconds per frame."

Me: "You know your government currency is broken when you're not measuring it in dollars per bitcoin, but in sats per dollar."

Oh, of course! I was thinking so much about Bitcoin 2024, I completely forgot about November for a moment!

I didn't go to Bitcoin 2023, and I have mixed feelings about that.

On one hand, I heard that the πŸ’©coinery was even worse this year. On the other hand, I know I would have seen many of my favorite Bitcoiners there if I had gone.

But what trumps all of that is the fact that I got to spend the week with my family on Tybee Island, near Savannah Georgia. Chances to have such experiences with one's own children only come once, and then they're gone forever.

So, while I would love to have gone to Miami, I don't wish that I had been there instead. I'm sure the conference was fun, even with the crapto influencers, but I know I was exactly where I needed to be.

Maybe I'll see y'all in Nashville, next year. 😏

When you can change the definition (as was done with polio) or create a vaccine just as the disease is on its way out (as was done with smallpox), it's easy to make it look like the vaccine was the hero.

The full title should have been:

"I have lockdown nostalgia, and I'm not alone, but I wish I was." πŸ˜†

Reminds me of this:

"And I saw one of [the beast's] heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." -Revelation 13:3

I'm not saying that's what John was talking about, but what you said just reminded me of that.

As a Blink wallet user, I can tell you that it is non-KYC, and while it is custodial, it's open source, so anyone can review its code. So, IMO, it's a great bridge wallet for on-chain and Lightning sats, and a great place to hold some sats for spending, but not a great wallet for holding large amounts for a long time.

Happy Mother's Day, Nostriches. I've noticed that most people these days seem to not understand some fundamental and unchangeable differences between men and women, beyond the obvious and changeable physical differences, I mean.

There are always exceptions of course, but generally, protecting and providing for our physical needs come easily to men, and nurturing and guiding our spiritual needs come easily to women. Just as we can not have zero time preference because we need oxygen, food, and water in the short term in order to get to the long term at all, the role of men is generally to provide for our immediate, short-term needs, and the role of women is to provide for our future, long-term needs. That's why misogyny in all its forms is a telltale sign of a high time preference civilization, one that's degrading into ruin and on the edge of collapse.

So, on this Mother's Day, and hopefully every day, be grateful to your mother for making you the man or woman you are today. All you women who are raising the next generation, you are shaping the future for all of us. And all you women who don't have children (whether not yet, or because of personal choice or physical limitations), you are no less nurturing to everyone you interact with, and are ever helping to shape a brighter future for everyone.

Happy Mother's Day. πŸ’œ

I've said it before and I'll say it again: There needs to be an animated show about the Little Hodler, with each episode explaining something about Bitcoin, fiat, economics, politics, Hodling, time preference, etc. It could be similar to the Tuttle Twins, except focusing on those things that are related to Bitcoin, and just as adorable as the Little Hodler comics.

If you ever want to raise funds for something like that, just point me to the place where I can donate.
