My Rose of Sharon is blooming for the first time. I grew it from a cutting that i got from a 92 year old woman, a neighbor we used to have who is no longer with us. Plants and flowers can be a wonderful way to remember someone.

Change soda for a tap water, chips for nuts. Avoid artificial sweeteners, they're not a solution.

The "healthy" sugar alternatives like honey, cane grass, Maple syrup... are as bad as sugar.

Fruit juices are out too. Eat the fruit instead. You can drink 10 apples within 1 minute, impossible to eat 10 apples, and get the same amount of sugar into your body, this fast.

Avoid alcohol, sweet coffee, dried fruit, and generally any processed food because there's definitely sugar in it. Keep checking ingrediences, you'll find sugar even in chorizo.

This looks like a lot, trust me, it's just a half of things you should avoid. I'm just being polite 🤙💜

Sweet Potato Greens and chilli soup, with Cumin, egg yolk and Comfrey flowers. Adapted from a Kale soup recipe, the greens, onion, chilli, egg and comfrey were all fresh out of the garden. The colour is rough, but it tastes great, no sprays or chemicals.

Such a freedom to make a meal almost entirely from your own efforts and right outside. Now I just need a Cumin bush.
