there are certain conversations you can only have between yourself and the lord almighty, if you believe in him, that is

it's funny how some kinds of labour pays nothing and involves no action but still have a cost - such as worry or waiting

is that a threat?

Lost in Translation is a movie about bonding over alienation, but also about how people in their 20s and people in their 40s often have in common that they have identity crises.

Norwegian expression:

vinninga går opp i spinninga

literal translation:

the win goes up in the spin

meaning:

what you gain only amounts to the effort you put in, i.e. there are no shortcuts

funny quote from Ingvard Wilhelmsen - Norwegian general practitioner, psychiatrist and internist - on the health benefits of jogging:

The joggers live for a bit longer than those who don't jog.

But possibly not much longer than the time they spend jogging.

So they should at least like to jog.

Norwegian medical expert:

The joggers live for a bit longer than those who don't job.

But possibly not much longer than the time they spend jogging.

So they should at least like to jog.

"wait, is that a grain of sand?"

nostr:npub13y8tztx3un67myysq4j5rdujnwngx2vgq73hxj74yddl46rxr8dstv786k i've run into grocery chain branches that are a little more sloppy than others, so you really gotta check dates. while others are more smoothly run.

nostr:npub13y8tztx3un67myysq4j5rdujnwngx2vgq73hxj74yddl46rxr8dstv786k all i know is that i began eating a bowl of cereal i made with it, and... it literally tasted like that shop smells, which seemed a little odd, and that's when i checked the expiry date...

my god, what an utter lack of initiative i have evolved as i enter my 40s. most hobbies and projects don't seem worth doing. but i'd gladly get on a flight to a random country to meet someone new. i'm more interested in people than machines now.

they say Monday morning is a really active time for social media, but the Fediverse seems pretty dead right now. i'm in Europe though. maybe that rule doesn't apply there. or i have too many followers in other time zones.
