so i thought the idea is that with bitcoin, by not passing it along, you are giving a gift to all the network holders.

It's like you are giving a gift to everyone and not to charitable Foundations that can ultimately fund the arts and sciences and all the ~Wonderful~ things those can create...

i actually really like this aspect of Saylor. if he really means what he says "die with bitcoin" it is the idea that you don't need to influence the future of the world with your ideas. let the next generation start on the foundation where you left off with no appointed board or heir or ruling elite...

brainstorming here:

yield on stock investment is a combination of

1) how successful a company is at influencing/self appropriating the money printer compared to other companies

2) how successful a company's products are relative to other companies.

3) how much does the market believe in a certain company/marketing

3) what i'm missing

post hyper-bitcoinization:

You may get more bitcoin in the future for spending bitcoin now by:

1) betting on a company that could have a product that saves you from spending bitcoin in the future

2) betting on a company slows down the rate that you spend bitcoin in the future

3) betting on a company that redirects bitcoin from others to you in the future.

great question. i don't believe so, although i wouldn't mind it.

let me know if you experience any teleportation of any kind.

I had a dream in which i could see flux lines around myself, as if it were a magnet, and on the periphery where the flux lines intersected with some other flux lines (not sure who those belonged to), someone appeared in a box.

at least in the dream, i was like "Aha, that's how teleportation works."

the middle class is sliding down the side of the Eiffel tower of economic class

the US is located on one of the best areas of earth as far as natural harbors, navigable rivers (Mississippi) overlaying fertile farmland... comparable only to France and Argentina

perhaps the corporate exploitation of the land and people of the US will fade into a memory and the people who live on the land will grow healthier and own more of the fruits of their labor.

A friend is asking me for dating/relationship advice. Am I wrong to think that relationships are completely transactional?

In 20s and 30s, they are often about sharing space with someone else. If someone is unwilling to share space, especially when rent is so costly in most cities, is it possible to have a relationship? Does that mean a relationship is just about saving money with someone that you enjoy being around.

if that's true, how much does whether sharing a bedroom with siblings growing up affect the probability that one will be in a relationship?

Would not sharing an apartment with a potential partner limit the dating pool severely as potential dates are going to put their roommates above the potential partner on the social priority ladder.

Bookmarked. so useful. the Nost Stats page is very cool

please tell me i'm paranoid and conspiratorial:

I've never seen so much news about DDay celebration in France as this year... are they trying to inspire some european young people to sign up for war?

it's not the size of the boat.... it's the motion of the ocean!

yikes! so how much of following of the law should be driven by fear of consequences vs just being a better person? it feels like it's impossible to not fall into a useless obsession with following laws that's completely unhelpful to moral development. so then it's easy to make up excuses for why certain laws just don't apply anymore.

i'm always looking for excuses for why i can be pagan and christian at the same time...
