When I go back and edit some text then try to write more at the end of my post it doesn't seem to realize I have moved the cursor and starts inserting what I type at the previous edit location. It seems to get triggered if I select a word and/or use paste.
Also when I use backspace it deletes the space preceding the word before the cursor, which forces me to try to place the cursor at the right place to put the space back in which is dfficult on a touch screen.
I find myself using select all, copy, cancel note, start a new note, paste, continue writing. Sometimes like 5 times before I give up and do it on a web client instead.
I remember with acute clarity when the US started dropping bombs in Afghanistan and Iraq. I could not stop wondering "why?". Why are we bombing countries as a response to non-state terrorism. How does this solve any problems? What does Iraq have to do with any of this? It didn't make any sense.
I was just a high school kid. My dad was really gung ho about the whole thing. I was skeptical. Ironic, because he's the one who taught me to be a skeptic. Double irony: Dad's copy of "The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" rested just a few feet away on the bookshelf as we watched the news footage of B2 bombers destroying a country on the far side of the world with little to no justification and thunderous applause.
I've learned a few things about how the world works since then. I know why we went to war back then and why they lied about it. Watching it all play out again 20 years later brings a profound sadness to my heart.
At least this time I am not helpless. I know the solution and I have the will to see it through. I have vowed to spend the rest of my working days to implement it.
The sadness is still there. But I also have a deep and motivating sense of purpose. And I have friends and colleagues who share this purpose. This fills me with optimism. We have to defund the war machine for the sake of all who come after us.
We have a plan. And it's working. This is why I bitcoin.
Amethyst text entry is a special kind of terrible.
I enjoy zapping Venezuelans. What other nostriches have garbage money? I would like to zap them as well.
Be sure to pay attention to your relays over time. Some stop working, just add some new ones when they dwindle.
tfw a friend comes to visit from Switzerland, but instead of the quiet boutique hotel two blocks from nostr:npub1theparkprcs70dcs437ke9zzwsr6u60f8flu7rg28m30438aep9sd94dha, he mistakenly booked a hotel *on* Broadway. 😬
I hope he likes honky tonk! 😆
I have wanted to study encryption for as long as I've been a bitcoiner. Would you recommend this course? Is it free online? Book form? Teach me senpai!
Welcome! If you set up a lightning address and reply here I will zap you some sats. They are like moons except you cent get rugged.
They started a shitcoin experiment some time ago and then shut it down yesterday, rugging everybody in the process.
Welcome! I see you got your lightning address set up already. You'll do great here! ;-)
NCMA is lit y'all

Fascinating convo: nostr:npub1atn7mlwt08erz4ap47gef92xfey65a4z9ed9vec53u5kc9v94pusl6h4x3 and nostr:npub10m6lrv2kaf08a8um0plhj5dj6yqlw7qxzeag6393z352zrs0e5nsr2tff3 with nostr:npub1ql2zzp3g6yndgz05js7wdc4qkr88wkyne5nw2cc7csrtzqs0yeesgwrxya. Digging into Skot's history and vision for open sourcing mining hardware for plebs and tinkerers.
We DEFINITELY need to get Skot funding to work full time on this!!!
Agree
So how do we get all the redditors that just got rugged onto nostr?
Google is unbelievably slow on a vpn
Yes, exactly. To really bank run you need to withdraw to lightning. This will cause liquidity issues if you have a large balance of ecash and/or small channels. Reissuing ecash doesn't prove that the underlying funds are safu but it is a critical piece of the puzzle. If you want to dig in you should read nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg's proof of liabilities scheme. https://gist.github.com/callebtc/ed5228d1d8cbaade0104db5d1cf63939
With ecash, the mint doesn't know who the users are. No one does. This could be app level, but again that is a central point of control. IMO we should make it cultural like zapathons. Ecashathon: every Fri and Thurs ecash users reissue all their notes.
