I was curious about whether there has ever been a rematch for the president of the United States of America. Turns out there was, and not just once, but a half dozen times!
1952 and 1956. Eisenhower won both times
1896 and 1900. McKinley won both times
1888 and 1892. Split, but Grover Cleveland won in 1884, lost in 88 and won in 92.
1836 and 1840. Split
1825 and 1828. Split
1789 and 1792. Washington won both times
It's interesting to see how rare it has been over the past 100 years, but how common it was in the 1800s.

Agree with your take on Trump & Biden
Kennedy is more favorable in polls than Trump or Biden (which, to be fair, isn't that high of a bar). He's already on the ballot in enoigh states and polls indicate he's got a real shot.
People said his dad didn't have a chance at the white house either, but he was set to win it... until he was assassinated.
I also suspect nostr:npub1f6ugxyxkknket3kkdgu4k0fu74vmshawermkj8d06sz6jts9t4kslazcka's ominious prediction of some event shaking things up seems like a very real possibility. Anything that can steer the policical conversation away from the debt, proxy wars, people's economic situations, homelessness and all the other topics that the two major parties don't want to talk about will help them avoid uncomfortable conversations.
Oh cool, you are on here. I saw screenshot of your replies on another social media platform (X, maybe?) over on my ActivityPub feed and wanted to give you a follow.
Also, it just goes to show how much social media is just a bunch of screenshots of other social media. 🤣
#Kennedy would cut military spending in half in the first three years and make further cuts after that.

I don't see #Biden or #Trump talking about any cuts to #military #spending.

Is Alin Armstrong on nostr?

Wow, and I thought my recipe was sickeningly sweet (but in a good way)!
It makes one wonder, doesn't it? Kaspersky has caught some very advanced stuff, but I'm pretty sure that was through Kaspersky Labs, not the antivirus program.
I don't think Kaspersky A/V is trustworthy, but then again, I don't think any corporate software is trustworthy.
Whether it's tracking, telemetry, advertisements, crash dumps, or any number of other things, it's just the kind of shenanigans I'd rather opt out of. I don't know which ones are actively malicious, but it makes little difference to me.
New version of the #Signet client released today: 0.9.21
It fixes a bug where the UI wasn't being built correctly on the "Add Account" window, which was preventing accounts from being added.
This embarrassing bug was introduced in the recently released version 0.9.20.
No other changes were made between 0.9.20 and 0.9.21.
What do you think about McAfee or Norton antivirus?
A Rusty Nail is one of those drinks that should last a while, being 2.5 fl oz of hard liquor and all, but it's so delicious they seem to disappear very quickly.
For those playing along at home:
2 fl oz bourbon
0.5 fl oz drambuie
On the rocks
Ah, the hard neck vs soft must be the difference. We were told by a **serious** garlic geek to harvest around August/September and plant in September/October.

Not sure what's going on with Garlicana, but you can get a sense of the level of knowledge here:

Agreed
I hope some day the the loophole that allows slavery of people convicted of a crime is closed too.
Huh, seems early for garlic harvesting, no? I thought that was like an August or September crop.
Or do you just have so many that you just pick 'em whenever you feel like it? Because if so, 😍
Oh dip, someone found an old post on nostr. Achievement unlocked. I feel like things fly by here so fast and then they hang around but [almost] nobody ever looks at them.
Anyway, I got a wallet and put it in my profile and that's it. No tips. Haven't tried to trade anything for XMR. Pretty antitclimatic.
Arguably Depp's finest work.
Although Secret Window is also a contender.
Both very different from Pirates of the Caribbean (which I also enjoyed, many times)
Yes, I believe so, but only relays operating out of the EU.
If the relays were to block DMs, I think they should be in the clear as that's the only thing that is end to end encrypted.
The node operator **could** make the argument that the **clients** are doing the encryption and that they have no control over which clients people use, but that'd be a pretty risky legal argument, especially if there's no client in existence that could possibly comply with this law.
Today I released a new version of the #Signet client for #Linux, #Windows and #macOS. The biggest change is compatibility with #ScreenReaders, but there's also improvements in search and a few others small things. The search is vital for me since I have over 350 passwords in my own personal device!
