nostr.json is where NIP05 verification is done. I don't know that changing the file itself is even a good idea, perhaps it could be changed in some instance-specific configuration file?

I've broken the nostr client #[0] into allowing me to have my own nip05 address without using some other service, as well as replacing #[1] with my own pictshare instance.
Now, anyone using my Iris instance at https://nostr.sharivegas.com/ can enjoy an alternative to nostr.build, and I've learned how to get nip05 addresses without some weird shit.
So that was interesting.
