Nostr has helped feel the good...but its also made me realize how much bad is being pumped on the socials and how caught up everyone out there is.

I just like to take a break every now and again. Sometimes its a few days, sometimes a few weeks. I even do it with caffeine, which for me is only a small amount of morning coffee.
For me, the experience of reality changes slightly which I think is beneficial and its nice to know none of the three have control over me.
Alcohol is really the easiest to take a break from since it hasnt been a consistent daily indulgence for me for years.
Not off the morning coffee this round.

I turn 35 today!
This morning, I woke up to see that nostr:npub1jrx2fk666k5nt8vgak9xwyxlgcwh8fl9rvpwvvcpdthuqkcnptrqdfhtaq had arranged this amazing display!
Not all of it was a surprise; I arranged the flowers yesterday, and we bought the applejack and maple syrup on our last trip through #wv knowing it would be a birthday gift (though I can’t really use the applejack until at least November, I’m looking forward to it!)
But the box of blackcurrant goodies was a wonderful surprise! It doesn’t take a long conversation with me to discover that 1. blackcurrants are one of my top three favorite fruits, and 2. they’re not legal to grow in many U.S. states for obsolete reasons, which 3. I’m interested in remedying if we settle in one of those states, just like 4. this one farmer in New York did, getting the ban there overturned all by himself.
This gift box is from THAT New York farmer! I’m so excited to try all his goodies, especially the chocolate bar - blackcurrants and dark chocolate go so well together, and with pine nuts added, it’s bound to be good.
(Even the box is cute!)
