"Levy says that just publishing the meta-analysis of human studies doesn’t give readers important context about animal studies conducted by the National Toxicology Program, which found no apparent decrease in learning and memory in rodents exposed to low to moderate fluoride levels. He points out that all of the human studies included in the review were from countries outside the US and that the majority are classified by the study authors as having a high risk of bias.
'Thus, despite the presentation of some evidence of a possible association between IQ and high fluoride levels in water, there is no evidence of an adverse effect at the lower fluoride levels commonly used in [community water fluoridation] systems,' he wrote.
The study authors agree with him on that point.
In a statement, they say they didn’t have enough data to know whether the level of fluoride that’s recommended for drinking water has any effect on children’s IQ."
I've liked the cashu.me wallet for small amounts.
I do, yeah. I just keep them in a Google Sheet and put them on an 8949 when doing taxes.
It's not declaring peanut amounts, it's just not taxable for you at all. You're sending dollars. The taxable event is 100% on Strike's side and they track all that (again, for themselves, not for you) as part of their business.
Of course, what else would it be? Being popular doesn't change what it is. Same with Caffeine.
I only use one account, and it's the correct one (this account I'm replying to you with).
While I was trying to set things up for Olas I briefly saw the normal view a couple days ago. I don't know how I triggered that and I can't seem to do it again.
I was using NWC via the cashu.me wallet to send zaps for a while, and it worked well enough if you want to give that a try.
What evidence is there that The Syrian Center for Economic Research is a serious organization that even exists other than putting out this one recommendation?
Thanks for specifying that it's not a government proposal, people were going a little nuts over this thing.
Amber is showing me a default "Congratulations, your new account is ready!" message on the Applications tab instead of the apps using it. Is that a known issue? It seems to be working fine still for Amethyst, OxChat, and Pokey, but Olas is being weird.
You're right that those are taxable events still. If you want to have a recipient receive Bitcoin without a taxable event on your side, you can send from your dollar balance in Strike to a lightning invoice or Bitcoin address.
That's saying that the zap came from that nostr account, not that the zap came from that address. You can send zaps from sources other than how you receive them.
Lightning addresses don't store funds, they're just a gateway to generating an invoice. You wouldn't be able to say that the sat you got back came from the same address, because no lightning sats come from addresses.
Someone could put any lightning address they want on a profile and sacrifice getting the value of zaps in favor of impersonating someone else.
I have my nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 Lightning ⚡️ Address set in my Nostr profile to receive #Bitcoin Lightning Tips.
But, every Zap that I receive to my Zeus wallet has a 24-hr expiration time limit and I have to manually Redeem the Zap.
Is there a way to just receive Zaps without having to always manually redeem them before they expire?
Or, am I just seeing the Redeem button and clicking it, when in reality I don’t need to Redeem at all and Zaps will just be auto-added to my Zeus wallet?

An npub.cash lightning address with cashu.me works pretty well. It shouldn't expire as long as the info is present on a relay somewhere.
