But yea I had at one time 250+ relays added 🤣 Didn't work as expected lol. I think ~100 is about the max.
Pretty fair assessment. Relays can also mirror other relays, if allowed. Since relays do not share notes/data amongst one another. So, if for example, you spin up your own relay, and only used that one relay, you wouldn't see anyone else and no one else would see you. (Unless you mirrored another relay).

Hmm I've noticed sometimes I'll post a #nostr message/note but I never see it public. It doesn't exist. Does that mean it tried to send over a relay where I dont have write permissions? Or, some bug with #damus?

Newer "protocol social networks" will be all the rage soon. #Nostr has been doing a great job leading the way. But, I think whichever protocol can be the first to support bridges so there's interoperability between one protocol and another, will come out victorious.
