Tomorrow I'm talking with Andy Yen on nostr:npub10qrssqjsydd38j8mv7h27dq0ynpns3djgu88mhr7cr2qcqrgyezspkxqj8
Andy is the Founder/CEO of Proton ( nostr:npub1mea2vwcu06qf7e4x00wd902vj54qnn2jacq76ldntrgfhtvhlpqqrvqane , ProtonVPN, etc) & we'll be talking about the launch of nostr:npub18s4zkd0wjq5gkthz4paw2704ty4s354wcp2krvxy0sewz3g9z2cs73ydrt — a self-custodial #Bitcoin wallet which they're releasing to their 100 MILLION customers. Let me know if you have any questions for Andy 👇

When do they release the wallet to the rest of us? I’d like to try it but didn’t manage to get an invitation yet
BOLT 12 with onion messaging wouldn’t be good enough? Exchanges are implementing it https://strike.me/blog/bolt12-offers/
I am glad we agree on the first point: Monero doesn’t scale.
On the “encrypted basechain”, how do you audit it then? Back to my point, you can’t have perfect privacy and a verifiable blockchain.
So Bitcoin for a verifiable blockchain: the hardest asset on top of which ecash can be minted when perfect privacy is needed.
Exchanges generally need to KYC you or be able to identify you, they are not viable options if you have privacy in mind.
What is people’s obsession with Monero again.
Stealth addresses and ring signatures are heavy, they don’t scale on a layer 1 blockchain. It works OK today just because few people use it.
Ecash + lightning is a much better and flexible technology and will replace all Monero use cases.
Perfect privacy or a blockchain, choose one. You can’t optimise for both.
They’re three legends worth following and protecting

Thanks for closing the issue. Let’s bring that conversation to Nostr now.
What is the best way to have people express preferences in here without spamming anybody else?
You guys will become a gigantic honeypot: prepare for attacks at a scale and sophistication you can hardly imagine.
Automate what’s possible, minimize trust, be very picky on who you hire and assume you’ll be breached anyway.
You’ll be successful, but you’ll have some very hard days.
Plebs are cheering for #Nostralia on GitHub. I wanted Africa but I admit that Assange’s participation would be extremely cool and positive for this movement.
I’ll help as much as I can whatever choice is made, but I probably won’t be able to fly to Australia.
For everyone who have been to #Nostriga

Probably a Chinese one. They’re generally good at UX.

Let’s move what we can from Telegram to Nostr/Signal/SimpleX. No E2EE in groups, bad crypto primitives, annoying shitcoin ads and a token? We can do better.
Move your groups to Signal until nostr:npub1zuuajd7u3sx8xu92yav9jwxpr839cs0kc3q6t56vd5u9q033xmhsk6c2uc gives us something even better.
