HAPPENING NOW: Police are out in force in parts of Berlin's Sonnenallee, an area with a large migrant community, including many Palestinians. According to local sources, police violence escalated, and numerous arrests were made against people carrying Palestinian symbols, including the national flag and the iconic keffiyeh scarf. Equipped with riot gear, the police also reacted aggressively to political chants.

Alarming police crackdowns against Palestine protesters have occurred in Berlin in recent days including the banning of a protest. In neighboring France, authorities issued a nationwide ban on Palestine protests.

Friday prayers erupted in massive protests today across Arab countries. Tens of thousands of people swarmed onto the streets after the Palestinian resistance called on the international community to "Mobilize in solidarity with our Palestinian people and to support their just cause and legitimate rights to freedom, independence, return, and self-determination." Massive protests are also taking place in countries with prominent militias allied to the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, such as Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.

Heavily charged by the non-stop Gaza bombardment, today's Friday prayers erupted in massive protests across much of the West Bank in occupied Palestine. Thousands swarmed the streets after resistance groups in Gaza called on all Palestinians to "rise up against Israel's occupation."

Today's Muslim prayers on Friday, the most important day of the week in Islam, marked the first after the massive historic offensive by Palestinian resistance groups last weekend. Tens of thousands of protesters poured into the streets across the Middle East in solidarity with the more than two million people in the Gaza Strip who are facing the possibility of an Israeli ground invasion.

Large protests are expected worldwide due to the highly tense Friday prayers against the Israeli occupation. Fearing escalation, some areas now ban Friday prayers, as in occupied Jammu and Kashmir in India.

Protests expressing solidarity with Palestine have spread worldwide in response to Israel's ongoing non-stop bombardment of civilian areas in Gaza. In Western countries, authorities have taken repressive measures against Palestinian solidarity activists, in some cases, protests have been banned and the use of Palestinian symbols has been outlawed. We were on the ground reporting about a police crackdown against solidarity protests in Germany. Local reports from Lyon, France, warned about police violence against pro-Palestinian protesters. The situation remains highly tense, and it is being closely watched by people worldwide as Israel's ground invasion of the Gaza Strip seems imminent.

Israel's five-day-long and non-stop bombing of Gaza killed more than 1,200 people, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry, as the horrific bombardment continues. 5,339 people have also been injured, while the UN agency for Palestinian refugees has said that at least 340,000 people have been displaced. The UN has also reported that Israeli strikes destroyed or damaged 13,600 homes, and 650,000 people face dire water shortages.

Israel's total blockade and siege on Gaza, illegal under international law, caused the city's only power plant to stop working as the fuel needed to generate electricity ran out. The International Committee of the Red Cross has warned that hospitals in Gaza are turning into "graveyards." Israel's Energy Minister said that no essential resources such as electricity, fuel, or humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in the region on Thursday morning to meet Israeli officials as Washington continues to offer unwavering support to Israel. A White House official corrected US President Joe Biden, saying he had seen "confirmed images" of "beheading children." The White House said it had no confirmed images.

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has said that Israel has asked Berlin for ammunition for its ships, while German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has confirmed that his country will end all development aid to Palestine pending a review. Jordan has vowed to send medical aid to Palestinians, while Israel warned to send trucks to Gaza. Iran and Syria have called for unity with Palestine.

Yianis Varoufakis told red. media “those who try very hard to extract a condemnation of the attack by Hamas” from him or his movement DiEM25 will “never get it”. Varoufakis said, “the criminals here are not Hamas…the criminals are Europeans” for remaining silent “as long as it’s Palestinians who die and not the occupiers”.

Varoufakis urged Europeans to “redeem ourselves” by pushing for peace via “the destruction of the state of apartheid”.

At least 260 children have been killed by Israel's relentless attack on Gaza which continued overnight and through this morning. The death toll in the besieged enclave since the start of Israel's air strikes on Saturday has risen to 1,055 while 5,184 people have been injured and 260,000 displaced.

Local authorities reported significant casualties when Israel targeted the home of an international law expert in Gaza City. The Israeli Air Force said they had hit 450 targets in the previous 24 hours.

Since the surprise attacks by the Palestinian resistance on Saturday, Israel has imposed a complete blockade on Gaza, cutting off food, water and power. UNRWA said it only has two weeks supply of food and water for the 180,000 people who have sought refuge in their schools. Local officials in Gaza have also warned that a power plant is due to shut down in a matter of hours due to a lack of fuel as a result of the Israeli blockade.

Despite the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday "we stand with Israel." Biden also described the attacks by Palestinian resistance groups as "unadulterated evil". However, US officials said that Washington was working with other countries on a plan to offer safe passage out of Gaza for civilians. On Tuesday, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told reporters that Israel's blockade of Gaza was illegal and that aid from Brussels would continue.

Iranian officials have continue to deny their involvement in Saturday's attacks, while Egyptian intelligence officials have claimed they gave Israel prior warning of the attacks. On Tuesday Israel also attacked the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt. The Israeli military has also confirmed that it attacked Lebanese territory following attacks on one of its military posts from Lebanon.

US Senator Marco Rubio openly called for a genocide against Palestinians live on CNN last night, saying "they have to be eradicated". This is the same man who calls for an end to the alleged Uyghur "genocide" by pushing for a US war with China.

At least 143 children and 105 women have been killed in Gaza, and 4,000 injured as the horrific Israeli bombardment of the besieged enclave continued overnight. The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that at least 788 Palestinians have been killed since Saturday, 770 in Gaza. Mosques, homes, a market, and refugee camps have been reduced to rubble while the Israeli Air Force claims it hit 200 targets in the Gaza overnight.

Israel has cut off water, food and power to the 2.3 million people living in Gaza. According to the UN, almost half a million people in Gaza have been unable to get food rations this week as distribution centers have been closed.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reports that 180,000 people have been displaced in Gaza from the Israeli attacks, a figure that is expected to increase. Around 137,500 people are sheltering in 83 UN schools.

On the anniversary of Che Guevara’s death, we remember the time he visited Gaza on the invitation of Egypt’s anti-colonial leader Gamal Abdel Nasser.

56 years after his death, Palestinians are a living embodiment of his spirit as they wage a heroic struggle for liberation against one of the most heavily armed colonial forces on the planet.

The non-stop Israeli bombardment of Gaza over the last 48 hours has already displaced 120,000 Palestinians who have nowhere to go. Israel said it attacked over 500 targets overnight. At least 493 people have been killed in Gaza since the start of the unprecedented offensive by resistance groups against the Israeli occupation.

Refugee camps, schools, mosques, multi-floor residential buildings, and the headquarters of resistance groups have been razed to the ground by Israeli air strikes. Civil defense groups are working tirelessly to pull people out of the rubble.

According to local reports Israel's bombardment of Gaza last night "didn't stop even for a minute." Gaza is home to 2.3 million Palestinians, one of the most densely populated areas worldwide which was already suffering from a severe humanitarian crisis before the military escalation.

Israel announced the "total blockade" of Gaza, including a ban on food and fuel, as part of its war against "beastly people." At the same time, Israel has prepared for a large-scale military retaliation, including mobilizing 300,000 reservists and preparing columns of tanks that are set to attack Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to "cleanse" militants from Palestinian settlements after yesterday's ongoing land, air, and ground offensive took control of many Israeli-occupied towns. The breaking through Israeli lines by resistance forces, which forced occupation soldiers to flee their positions and expelled settlers, marked an unprecedented humiliation for Israel's ultranationalist government.

Netanyahu declared a "state of war," mobilized reservists, and vowed to fight the Gaza authorities to the end, saying, "We will turn Gaza into a deserted island." Many analysts fear a large-scale Israeli ground offensive as the culmination of retaliation after Israel has already bombarded Gaza day and night since the offensive, killing more than 300, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

At least 160 have been killed after Israeli fighter jets bombed Gaza, one of the most densely populated cities in the world, according to medical sources. Hamas fired over 5,000 rockets in an unparalleled Palestinian offensive against Israel. Each Israeli airstrike is deadly because Gaza residents, in stark contrast to Israel, do not have adequate protection from airstrikes.

Israel's far-right prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared, "We are at war," saying "the enemy will pay a price they have never known" and calling on the Israeli army to "cleanse the settlements of the terrorists." Gaza residents reportedly flock to supermarkets in anticipation of a prolonged military confrontation.

The Israeli military reports hitting at least 21 targets belonging to the Gaza ruling group Hamas, with the number likely increasing, but also targeted hospitals and residential buildings. Netanyahu also announced multiple goals of the Israeli operation "Iron Sword" in response to the attack, including recapturing settlements and fortifying the border further to Gaza, often described as an "open prison."

Happy World Smile Day! In case you haven’t smiled yet today, here’s the revolutionary with probably the world’s brightest smile, Malcolm X, to cheer you up.

“Power doesn’t back up in the face of a smile or in the face of a threat of some nonviolent loving action. It’s not the nature of power to back up in the face of anything but some more power.” – Malcolm X

Evo Morales has been declared as the presidential candidate of the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS-IPSP) at their party congress today in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The congress has also voted to expel President Luis Arce.

The MAS has presented Morales after months of internal factional conflicts with current President Luis Arce, who will likely declare himself a rival candidate later this month. The resolution also states that Luis Arce has used state funds to divide Bolivia's social movements in order to isolate Evo Morales and stop his return to the presidency. Those allied with Luis Arce say that new leaders are needed going forward, and that is why they opposed Morales' candidacy.

The electoral authorities have recognized this congress as the official decision-making body of the MAS, therefore, Evo is now their official candidate. If Luis Arce runs, it must be with a new political party. The party and government have now formally split.

The undefeated revolutionary military leader Vo Nguyen Giap, the Vietnamese People's Army general who defeated US imperialism and French colonialism, died on this day in 2013. He was nicknamed "Red Napoleon" by the West – a flawed Eurocentric comparison because, unlike Napoleon, Giap never lost a war.
