Ran into this young local fisherman from la Ribera area the other day. He landed 3 Dorado (mahi mahi) which can be very challenging from a kayak. He makes videos on tiktok and fishes 3-4 days a week.
It looked like the bike wasn't going to make it out of the sand but no issues. I got a call and off he went before I got his info but I'll be back. I used to live in this town 30 years ago, when there were maybe 50 houses, now thousand or 2 with a new marina and golf course going in.

Growing a bunch more ivy of other varieties too. This one is local from ranch n time to go into soil but very delicate. I have a tougher variety that I've replanted in many ex-homes of mine.
Funny how over the years I've brought basil, aloe vera, palms and ivy from other homes. some plants have been with me over 30 years.

Had a tomahawk last night that I couldnt finish, almost never but you can see it was a dino steak, 2" thick. They are a bit tough, local range cattle but the flavor is great and they are cheap at $16 a kilo

Rancho San Satoshi in Baja Sur, Mexico. 400 hectares or 1000+ acres...need about 25 miles of swales and burms and 5 or 6 ponds.
Working in zones and only focusing on the " compound " and will get much more help when it's time to develop it all. Roads will be in swales with structures in the right place for the land, drainage and water capture.
Several years of having earthworks along with NFT's😂 Nitrogen Fixing Trees and infrasture in the right place this place will become part jungle in th desert without lots of irrigation.
It's a low time prefence project and will be a school, community and event site for teaching and demonstrating...

One of my neighbors didn't make it through the dry season. I must have driven by him several times before finding him under one of the larger mesquite trees in the main arroyo.
Importance of water out here for all animals can never be overstated. This past dry season was unusually long and difficult for local ranchers. Many lost some cattle as they just dont make it back to the water in time.
One of the reasons I've not begun ranching as of yet. When I do shade water and feed will be more available than most under resources ranches. This is why I believe a lot of earthworks, swales, burms and ponds created before ranging a lot of livestock is necessary.
