That makes a certain amount of sense though. Plane tickets are relatively expensive. People who have money can better take care of themselves, instead of being a burden on others. Clearly it's a better situation when people can take care of themselves.

Sure, but there’s simply no point to making a ReplyGuy bot if archiving is your intention. Instead of the bot “replying”, it could simply archive to a private database instead. There’s no reason to do the extra step of spamming the network for no additional benefit.

This seems like something somebody would just make up. Is there any actual source to this?

#nostr is not as addictive as it could be. Some will definitely say this is a feature. But part of it is also that it’s not nearly as useful yet as it could be. #grownostr

No. Once it's out there, it's out there. The best you can do is politely ask relays and clients to kindly ignore it going forward, but there will always be those so do not.

We stand on the shoulders of giants.

I think if #weboftrust #wot #spam filtering is ever going to be widely successful on #nostr, it would need to be highly transparent, so that it can evolve propertly.

There would need to be some kind of "spam folder" where you could go see what's been blocked and PRECISELY the reason why.

For example: "This note was muted because it was marked as spam by @jb55 and you flagged him as trusted in your WOT."

If NOSTR is about giving control back to the users, then give it back to the users. Don't hide everything away in a black box.

#damus seems to respect “deleted notes” and not show them. Cool. So when is #damus going to let you delete notes from inside Damus? #asknostr nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s

Hey nostr:nprofile1qqsyvrp9u6p0mfur9dfdru3d853tx9mdjuhkphxuxgfwmryja7zsvhqpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcewvzaw. The delete note button (Request Deletion) should probably ask for confirmation, instead of just instantly doing it. It's not the kind of action you'd want to accidentally click on.

Maybe that's true, but people believe all kinds of stupid things. Your clothes will last longer if you air dry them instead of putting them through the dryer, so maybe these people are just making a smart personal choice. And saving electricity.

I get your point, but X is a company governed by laws. The laws may be stupid, but I would say this is the fault of the law makers, not the company doing everything it is allowed to do within the bounds of the law. And maybe that is Elon's point, to shed light on where the problem lies.
