What an incredible experience being part of the 1𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 in the jungle of Uvita, Costa Rica!

This event was a true revelation, blending inspiration, family-friendliness, rich cultural vibes, and an incredible assembly of like-minded individuals. Never before have I encountered such an extraordinary convergence of amazing people engaging in high-quality conversations spanning #Bitcoin, freedom, culture, the hummingbird tribe, and much more 🙂.

The momentum of #Bitcoin adoption in Uvita and Costa Rica has far surpassed the expectations I had when coming here. The embrace of Bitcoin is evident with hundreds, possibly thousands, of merchants now accepting it. And by using the Bitcoin Jungle app you can spend Bitcoin at 90% of all other merchants not accepting direct Bitcoin payments yet - thx to an integration with the local payment system "SINPE".

I've managed to transact in Bitcoin for over 90% of my expenses - 46 transactions in total were conducted using #Lightning. I even bought home-baked cookies from a little girl at the market. Her parents told me she is learning about money, how to build savings, and more by selling her cookies from time to time with them at the market.

I can not even imagine how much hard work and heart has been poured into this by the nostr:npub14f26g7dddy6dpltc70da3pg4e5w2p4apzzqjuugnsr2ema6e3y6s2xv7lu team, nostr:npub1t289s8ck5qfwynf2vsq49t2kypvvkpj7rhegayrur0ag9s2sezaqgunkzs and the locals organizing the markets that are the center of it. I was truly touched by listening to the panels and talks around this topic with the participation of local tribe members and how everything here is deeply connected with the land.

Bringing my family to a conference is usually a concern due to their not-so-family-friendly nature, but the organizers did an outstanding job. The program was enriched with cultural and spiritual activities, and my wife and baby thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Awake Centre provided the perfect backdrop, showcasing why so many choose to live and raise their children in this remarkable community.

A heartfelt thanks to Nikki, the organizers, volunteers, and everyone who made these 3 days so special. We're already contemplating a return for the 2nd Festival next year 🙂.
