I was using the nos2x browser extension & I don’t know what screen I ended up on that gave me the nos2x popup to let me approve it for 5 minutes.
It continues to look like I’m logged in now though?
I’m mostly using Damus though. But snort.social let’s me delete. (Though I don’t know how permanent or widespread that post deletion is.)
There’s still a lot I need to dig into.
Test post from Primal.net
Just to make it easier to find me in some of these Nostr clients:

It wasn’t a popular car but it’s a fun ride.
Some viewed it as Oldsmobile’s last ditch attempt at having something that wasn’t viewed as an old person’s car. But it still was if you just go based on looks. 😎
Anyone want to play a game of what’s that car?
It might not look like much but it’s 24 years old & still has some power under the hood. I’ll give hints if no one can guess. (The first hint is actually the age. It’s not made anymore.)

Well my first post was Mid-December. In the case of Nostr I don’t think I realized how early I was to the platform.
But I do know I looked around more recently and was still not finding the resources quickly and defiantly not many of the resources that were shared (I had nostr.com in December and that’s the only overlap I remember coming across.)
Another great resource.
Random question that’s a slight tangent: was this, snort.social and/or Alby around in December? Or did I just miss all of that at that time?
I still don’t think to do searches on GitHub either for social media resources and that should probably be a personal change that needs to happen.
To give a direct answer to your question:
Plebstr: https://plebstr.com/
Nostur (a bit rough around the edges): https://nostur.com/
As to getting started, it does take slightly more effort than many social networks, due to the nature of the platform (true censorship resistance comes with some unique challenges) and because we don’t have full UX design teams working fulltime on the clients like the big names do. That being said, it is getting easier.
This website gives excellent guides on getting started with a few clients: https://nostr.com/
I can also say that the #Damus team is working very hard on improving the onboarding experience right this minute.
❤️
Definitely going to check out those links. 😎 Thank you.
I had managed to sign up back in December from the computer. Long term it might be good for people to be able to sign up via phone but making it clear how it can be used on a phone is FAR more important. I primarily do social media from my phone & Damus was still in beta back in December.
I only gave it my public key while it was in TestFlight & then also later on. Nothing in the app made it clear that not being able to post was because of that. And there’s a toggle for “public key” in the app soooo…
In fact the app gave me a message that actually just made me think I had set up my account too long ago to be able to post anymore. I thought I was honestly going to have to start over.
I think I’m typing this out less for a response to the individual in this thread and more as a documentation of experience for anyone interested. #[3] is basically the only person I have memorized to tag. I’m pretty sure I followed the Damus dev but can’t remember his name.
I’m not completely dumb about tech so a lot of my frustrations have been thanks to presentation I believe and unclear messaging various places & at various times.
Iris.to is noted now too for new accounts (that was not the path I went, I have notes somewhere on what I actually did.)

I AM here but I have questions. (You posed a question on Bluesky and I responded there.)
Yeah Nostr is still over the average person's head.
I just realized while trying to log in on a computer why the Damus app wouldn't let me post. There was nothing anywhere in that app explaining that because I had used the public key I couldn't post (it DOES make sense after knowing that that's why but I wasn't given this info on that client.)

Now I'm trying to understand what I need to do in order to use it on my phone & it looks like a 20 step process???
There's so much barrier to entry it means this will be an echo chamber if that doesn't change / become simpler & clearer.
ARE there any other iphone apps (even if they are testflight stage, just curious because I AM keeping tabs on the entire social media landscape as major changes unfold.)
Also FWIW I don't have a crypto wallet of any type & Nostr seems to have evolved to a place where it looks ALMOST necessary.

Ok ... I think I'm here ... right? "Hello World" etc
