Ok another AI scenario question - AGI is developed for real, and it puts millions out of work.
What next? I think nearly everyone on Nostr knows why “Universal Basic Income” doesn’t work.
What do these huge swaths of people do to survive?
I can imagine communities being formed where human organizations go “back to basics”. Where they work together to farm, build, protect for one another. And obviously, using sound money.
Ya, I personally don’t buy that well will ever get to a point where AI can do everything 100%.
But to be clear, in my scenario I’m imaging AI good enough to build apps, but not necessarily knowing what to build and would need to be “prompted” by a user. In that case, the problem becomes who can envision the most compelling solutions to problems.
You could argue it would take AGI to get an AI like what I’m suggesting, and I think that’s fair, but I also don’t buy that a statistical model is capable of AGI (nor do I think we’ll get to a point of deploying apps with 0 technical knowledge).
Regardless, I do agree that tech companies are cooked. I have come to despise SV type companies and it would bring me joy to watch them fail.
I’m doing my part 🫡
What do you mean I’m cooked? And what hiring would companies be doing? For software engineers?
I agree on the point on SaaS for sure. But I think that expertise only becomes more important in this scenario.
That’s my feeling as well. I have a hope that this would turn tech businesses into small, local businesses where you actually know your customers and their pain points.
Ok, let’s say #AI gets to a point where non technical people can build production level apps without needing any code or infra skills. I have serious doubts about this, but for argument sake.
What becomes the differentiator to make a business successful? If anyone can easily build an app that mirrors your company’s app, what is going to make customers choose your business?
Hello, I like sports ball 😀
My zaps sent to received ratio is starting to get closer to even the last few days 😁
Spent the entire day yesterday with friends from church and my family. Just talking, having fun, and being together. Was a fantastic day.
But also only got 5 hours of sleep 😅
Absolutely. I just wonder if that accelerates
I know the common belief is that future generations will continue to adopt technology at a more and more integrative level, but I’m not completely sold on that.
I can’t help but wonder if people will eventually start to push back and only use tech in certain ways, or limit their exposure.
For sure. I’m mostly just curious what sorts of things are being tried in this realm. Hoping to focus more on ways to fight back rather than just being miserable that the surveillance state exists in the first place.
Oh ya the phone is a great point.
I’ve seen some people avoid gate detection by putting an extra sole in one shoe 🤣
So many people in my circles are hurting financially right now. It’s honestly heartbreaking and hard to deal with.
I really try not to be obnoxious and convince them bitcoin is the answer, but few of them ever listen anyway.
My dad has worked 50-60 hours a week for decades, saved his ass off, did everything right and still can’t retire.
My mission in life is to help end this reality where money owns everything in our lives.
Is anyone building anti AI surveillance tech? I saw something a while back that was a fashion line where the clothes would intentionally mess up the AI facial recognition.
Jeff Booths thesis playing out so unbelievably fast. We are living in absolutely incredible times.

While I certainly enjoy seeing OpenAI take a massive L, this whole thing about AI becoming sentient is just so ludicrous. The end of this article was very cringey.
Genuine question - is lightning really that private? I had read previously that there are ways to track the transactions but I know very little about lightning and this was a while back
My wife after moving into our newly built home:
“We must buy a farm and grow all our own stuff”
