your underlying point of not wanting to carry around and use precious metals as an every day transfer of value, especially in large amounts is well taken, and i agree.

but honestly, considering that around 900 ounces of gold can fit into the average cigar box, and the current spot price being in the $2900 range, large amounts is relative.

As for the unconfiscatability of Bitcoin, this presumes a functional legal system, and doesnt take into account people who will threaten to cut off all your fingers and kill your relatives unless you give up your private key.

Ive been into bitcoin since 2010, and use it almost daily for real world transactions.

But ive also actually lived in a place where the government and economy had completely collapsed, and recognize the value of gold(and silver).

My good friend called to tell me a wild story of having his iphone compromised somehow yesterday. The attacker was able to plant fake uber eats apps on the iphone. Then camera, microphone and location settings were changed along with passwords being compromised. He attempted to switch networks and the device would revert back. He would put in airplane mode and would switch back. He then attempted to backup his phone to his macbook which then bricked the computer.

He got multiple scam texts from coinbase and banking apps etc in the process. He ended up nuking the phone and resetting the computer to a previous bcakup. He said he felt threatened physically because he thought it was individually identified for target but couldn't tell. He said that his 2fa and face id most likely prevented a loss.

He is major tripping right now. Stay safe, keep clean digital hygiene, use the tools and don't type anything or give away information in a panic.

There should be no such thing as a tax exempt organizations or tax deductible giving. The country would heal, scam organization would shut down, and Christian churches would do just fine. Christian giving is an act of acknowledgment that everything I “own” is a gift from God in the first place and supporting the work of the church makes the world a better place. I don’t need to be incentivized by a secular government to give.
