I look at it as our money, but she doesn’t work. So, we make categories in YNAB and allocate as such. We did give each other a specified budget for spending money in the past, but not anymore. But we make sure our budget includes wiggle room for things she wants (but not needs).
My wife had this same problem. We started using You Need a Budget (YNAB) and it’s helped a ton.
