Scrolling through the list of speakers at this year’s Baltic Honeybadger. Two realizations:
1. Most speakers seem to have a Nostr presence. This is cool.
2. I don’t actually care what the ones without Nostr presence have to say. I mean, if a person doesn’t get why they must Nostr, they’re just larping caring about freedom anyway.
And then eventually the heir happens to be some dipshit. Not that the dipshit rules. Invisible power structures (IYKYK) emerge, and the King’s “master of stool” is suddenly the most prestigious job in the Kingdom. Eventually the actual rulers want to be recognised as such, and violence ensues.
Look, there are no “good” systems. It’s a space of trade-offs where you pick your poison. Or, well, it’s only a democracy that lets you “pick” the poison.
Arguably, the only real benefit a democracy provides is non-violent transfer of power. There are “democracies” where even this is not a given, and then yeah, a monarchy would be better, as the cycle of violence is longer.
I’m shit scared to talk about Bitcoin in public with strangers around. Too many wrench attacks, I don’t want to put myself or my family in harm’s way.
I do talk about Bitcoin with people I know though. But also only if they’re interested. Don’t want to be “that guy”! But to each his own, and this _is_ a pretty cool experience!
Reading the comments section on the orange site for an article about housing prices. Nobody, and I mean nobody, is mentioning that the denominator gets debased. The closest they get to the core is when someone mentions inequality, and observes how real estate gets bought up as an investment to the detriment of the wage-bound.
“monetary premium” is the term they’re searching for. And, no, regulation, deregulation, zoning laws, etc, won’t solve the issue.
We’re still early. Do what nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx says.
Well. You couldn’t have known that someone is going to drop 9 billion worth of BTC, some portion of which is likely to now sit in the OTC desks where it alleviates the supply squeeze on larger buys and hence contributes to sideways price action.
That’s my guess at least. Note that it doesn’t really change any of the fundamentals, just provides more opportunities to get in at this price.
NFA DYOR
What do you think of Bitkey?
A large part of it is probably now chilling in the OTC desks. Though I doubt they could cough up 9 billy just like that, so some of it must’ve been actually sold on spot.
They don’t have oil though

The comment section is… Well, I guess we’re still early 😂
Well… Define “well” though!
Pretty sure there are Epstein files, and Trump is in them.
The robot knows.

Ah, Ok! 😅 I thought you were maybe doing something smart with some new Nostr anti-bot service or something!
ELI5 the bot tag thing please?
Everyone I follow seems to still be here though! 🤷♂️
I think this time it might be that Ian’s joke flew over Lyn’s head though. “A special military operation” is how Russia calls its “not-war” in Ukraine.
Yes, I believe this makes Israeli citizens safer. Looks like they’ve taken out significant capabilities, as well as pushed back the date Iran can acquire nuclear weapons. This might also precipitate a regime change in Iran eventually too. (Do you think they could’ve managed the extensive in-Iran activities without local support?)
Yes, definitely makes them safer.
Well. Saving human lives would be one.
If Russia ever cared for that.
