I get it, you know how Lightning works. But there's a few things you might be overlooking about its scalability and custodial nature.

First off, while it's true that each Lightning channel needs an on-chain UTXO to open, the network is built to make the most of each channel. You don't need a direct channel between every single user. Instead, you can route payments through interconnected nodes, reducing the need for everyone to have a bunch of channels.

Plus, there are new tech advancements like channel factories and multi-party channels that are designed to improve scalability. These allow multiple users to share a single UTXO while keeping everything secure and trustless. This means fewer on-chain UTXOs are needed, making it more practical for a lot of people to use the network without each needing their own UTXO🤷

You’re still schooling me while being ignorant yourself. Almost anyone technical working on lightning or bitcoin protocol level will tell you if we ossify now we’re end up with custodial bitcoin for most of the world

It’s ok if you just don’t understand fully.. The assertion that "Lightning does not scale enough in current protocol state" might stem from a misunderstanding of the Lightning Network's design and capabilities. The Lightning Network is specifically built to handle transactions off the main Bitcoin blockchain, allowing for nearly unlimited scalability as it can handle millions of transactions per second—far surpassing the throughput of traditional financial networks like Visa, for instance.

Dude, I know how lightning works, you don't need to school me. And precisely with that I know it's not capable for scaling self-custodially in current state. There's no way everyone in the world can own even a single UTXO to open lightning channel

Don’t touch the protocol. Layer 2/3 solutions is all you need.

In all seriousness, where do you see the future of Nostr? So far it would seem that the growth has slowed down and we are just flat. Many apps has been created but only few are maintained and not dead yet. What are we missing here? Did the novelty start wearing off and we are just lacking anything that normal user would see as worth exploring here? 🐶🐾🤔🤔🤔
