Nostream is the relay software that I've been running for the last 6 weeks.

You can also use this guide and just not follow through with the paid settings to setup your own private relay at home.

**Nostr is winning because it's an open protocol that promotes interoperability, innovation, and decentralization.**

**Interoperability**: Nostr allows different clients to communicate and work together, regardless of the developer. This enables users to have more choices and greater flexibility in how they use this protocol and it also promotes competition among vendors. Competition is good.

**Innovation**: Open protocols allow anyone to build on top of them, which encourages innovation and experimentation. This can lead to new and exciting ways of using Nostr that would not have been possible with closed, proprietary protocols. We'll see new and exciting features pop-up within clients or entirely new Nostr clients, using Nostr in a way that are completely unique. This is the **"Other Things"** part of Nostr.
