And then when you find out the same app is telling you different things than the "weatherman" and they're all wrong anyway.

Weather forecasts are bullshit. Two phones. Same location. One snow at 6am. One rain then snow at 7pm. It's either 5-12 inches or less than one. If they cover all the grounds they can't be wrong. Might as well just look outside to judge the weather as is at current. They only offer the illusion of planning. There is no plan. Nor data. Fuck weather folk.

I keep hearing people say Fountain is their favorite podcasting app, but every time I use it the search is still completely broken and the UX is confusing and hard to navigate compared to other podcasting apps.

All kinds man. I have a pretty ridiculous homelab set up simply because of who I am as a person (and engineer).

My data (~120TB) is stored on a Synology NAS and I have a r610 with dual Xeons 32 threads and 192GB of RAM which does my compute. My service stack is all in Docker.

For services I have:

- Wireguard VPN for connectivity away from home

- Bitcoin infrastructure (core, lnd, lnbits, mempool, explorer, joinmarket)

- Matrix/Synapse for encrypted & private comms

- nostr-rs for Nostr relay

- Hugo static site generation for several different sites/blogs I run

- Pihole for blocking trackers/malicious things

- Documents, photos, drive are all Synology because their software is really good

- Sonarr, Lidarr, Radarr stack for media

- Plex for video consumption

- Navidrome for audio media streaming

- Vaultwarden for password management

- Gitea for code repo

- FreshRSS for RSS fetching

- Hauk for location sharing with friends/family

- ihatemoney for expense sharing/tracking

Those are my most used. There's also a smattering of other things I'm POC'ing or just playing with not really worth mentioning.

Installed the first solar #meshtastic node at a farmer’s homestead. Still waiting for external antennas to arrive. But as it is (internal antenna), it is reaching a couple of miles easily and consistently. Next one is at the actual farmer’s market in OSJ.

You can practically get all the parts off the shelf today.

What you can't do is fly one without a pilot's license. Or manufacture anything larger than the ultralight class without government certification.

And even in The ultralight class is extremely difficult because they're really only good for a payload of one person if they're not a fat ass. With a very short range to boot.

There's actually numerous open sourced ultralight class helicopter plans floating around the net. That can be built with very few machined parts. But the second you try to add a bigger engine or larger fuel tanks You're out of that range that the king allows.
