Toxic Bitcoiner

If your country was recently built on land that was acquired through massacres and the people who newly inhabited said stolen land weren’t even from the same continent, can you imagine how many enemies you’d make?

If you purposefully put yourself in a hostile environment, where none of the people around you want you there, can you imagine what you would do to protect yourself? The mountain of lies, propaganda, gaslighting, etc that you would produce if your survival depended solely on perception?

All lands are conquered lands. Living in peace has been a rare, temporary, blessing in the past.

Most people don’t want solutions; they just want to complain about every problem they have in their life.

Things are going to get interesting when bitcoiners have a large part of the nations wealth and merchants discover that bitcoiners don’t want the same goods and services that the fiat crowd desired.

The "bitcoin reserve", ETFs and Micheal Saylor #fiat shenanigans play a huge roll in my interest in learning more about #monero.

Perhaps bitcoin has already been corrupted.

I like the fact that no one is taking about monero In mainstream.

It’s like saying no one is talking about the Yugo so it might be a better car. Im a Toyota guy, millions of people I don’t care for also recognize the great value of buying a Toyota. As money tends to one, people we don’t like are also going to want to use the best money. Adoption doesn’t mean corruption. The great part is you can commit some of your savings wherever you want and find out in 5yrs whether you made a good or bad choice.

I am working to understand the tradeoffs between #bitcoin and #monero.

I have to be honest. One red flag I see is that many bitcoiners come off as religious about it vs. explaining things in a logical way.

I have been guilty of this In the past when I have immediately written of monero as a shitcoin simply becuase it is not bitcoin. But looking closer, it seems like a solid project with good intentions.

The monero people seem more level headed and often support both chains for the most part.

I will comtinure to ask questions. I am not attached to outcomes. I don't care about current adoption and USD price as much as I care about long term viability. And privacy is very important to me.

We are still so early. And things can change.

I notice the monero people are always coming into bitcoin conversations to shill monero. Are Bitcoiners constantly going in to monero conversations? I know I never do. Happy for them to persue whatever they want, but when they pop in to tell me what’s wrong with Bitcoin and promote monero, I just mute them. Seems pathological to me.

Imagine coming out of 17 years of schooling with no basic blue collar skills, taking anti-depressants and ADHD meds, needing instructions to do absolutely anything, no confidence or initiative, having political opinions more developed than any productive skill but still requires a “safe space” because you’re mentally incapable of defending it, & despite the degree that academia was SO supportive about, the only job you can get is serving coffee…

And then being mad at “the economy,” instead of an education system that just took 17 years of your life and threw it in the trash.

This is the state of a shockingly large part of our population.

Am I the only one not worried that Nostr isn’t receiving an instant flood of millions of users and who always thought this was going to be a very long haul?

Honestly, do we even think the protocol could handle millions of daily users right now? I kinda think it would be a mess at this stage but we are getting close, imo.

Fatherly advice: 1000s of small good decisions strung together over time is the hard but common path to a good life. As far back as I remember I wanted to be a real estate investor.

I studied the Buy, Renovate, Refinance, Repeat (BRRR) model and thought I’d house-hack my way into wealth.

Once Bitcoin clicked for me that all changed. Now I see how silly it truly is that a huge amount of the population uses houses as a savings vehicle. This causes real estate to carry a massive monetary premium above its utility value.

I would still like to own a nice property for myself and my family eventually but there really is no second ₿est when it comes to saving.

The opportunity cost of owning anything other than #Bitcoin right now is insane.

Does the buy renovate sell part still interest you as a way to produce income?
