This is a terrible argument for gold as competition for bitcoin.
Firstly, value is subjective and intrinsic value doesn't exist.
Secondly, using gold for non-monetary uses devalues it as a money.
Money is not meant to be consumed. Its purpose is to store value and exchange it for consumables or investments in the future.
I have no hard evidence for this but it feels right.
The thesis is simple.

Yeah, I guess zapping notes works only for the test flight. Maybe nostr:npub1wxl6njlcgygduct7jkgzrvyvd9fylj4pqvll6p32h59wyetm5fxqjchcan would be a solution to it 🤔
The test flight version of Damus I'm running does not have zaps on notes, but zapplepay is a great second option
It's an IOU for custodial bitcoin that can be transferred privately and without fees.
Great for small payments like zapping.
